From his quote, it appears that he is more worried that his potential opponent has spent a long time training overseas without being drug tested.

According to Hearn, Joshua runs the show and decides on the money that's offered.
I don't believe anything that Hearn says.
If he was telling lies about Joshua do you think that Joshua would be happy with that?

That's silly.

I don't think Joshua isn't ducking fights because I'm British.
AND it runs counter to your own logic. These fights aren't getting made because Hearn is "offering peanuts" - so how can AJ be ducking fights that aren't being made ?
Joey Dawejko is 5ft 10 and obese. He drew with Miller.
AJ is happy to go to USA to box Miller, but turned down $50m to fight Wilder.

Boxing is a little different. Due it’s nature your next fight could be your last & your working life is very limited. The health risks in boxing are high and you can only compete for a limited timeframe so I don’t blame boxers for trying to maximise their earnings.

At any given moment your career could be over. And worse case scenario you could also be left unable to do any other kind of work.,

Yes i totally understand all that but boxing is a risky business at any level,Whyte would have made a few quid for his first few fights, now he's being offered millions for a chance at the richest prize in sport and has turned it down.

Yeah boxers are deserving of their pay, it's a sport like no other, with the risks sky high, and many people don't give a f*ck for them when it's all said & done, so I don't begrudge them going out for big bucks

On the flip side though, no one forces anyone to fight, that's an individual choice, no one holds a fighter up at gunpoint & says you must do this you must do that, so the way they carry on at times about doing their job is a bit farcical, turning down lucrative fights that will get them a lot of dough just because they want even more dough, different if they was turning down a p*sstake of an offer that was a liberty, but some turn their nose up at decent paydays

That's my point,it's a life changing amount of cash on offer, with the potential to make millions more.

It's about what you think you're worth, years ago I read about Nigel Benn effectively pricing himself out of a fight with RJJ because the money on offer wasn't worth the risk of getting twatted senseless(which would have happened and I love Nige) when he could make similar amounts fighting lower ranked opponents.

Makes sense, but whyte has been offered millions, much more than he's worth to be fair.

Wilder is ‘advising’ Whyte to ditch Hearn and sign with PBC.

If he's injury-free and 2/3s fit, sure. But to use myself as an example (admittedly not the most relevant one), I'm currently over 2 mins per mile slower on runs than I was in the summer, following an injury from overtraining that forced me into very light work for a few months.

And the thing is, what was overtraining for me would've been laughably lazy for any pro. Once we get a bit older we can often still reach fantastic fitness levels, but it can't be guns-blazing any more. I'm pushing 40 and could probably get close to the times I was capable of in my 20s, but training would take twice as long without PEDs due to the increased recovery and my poor base. Right now I get DOMS if I run more than twice per week, so I'll be very carefully upping my mileage until about April, and only then will I have the base to push on for anything respectable.

Now this should be moot for Whyte because he's a pro athlete, but I do think he's overweight and needs several months to reach his best. He shouldn't be in this position (barring injury) in the first place, but since it appears he is, I'd have no problem with giving him 4 months to bring along the best version of himself. Miller doesn't look like he'll ever put in enough work, though, so I think he'd be fine for Wembley.
Finally. A voice of reason

Yeah agreed mate it’s not like he’s being offered chump change. Eddie Hearn did make a good point about if they really though they could win they would jump at the chance - AJ took very short money to fight Charles Martin but was confident he could win then get the big money that comes with having the title . :TU:

TBH. Whyte not saying he needs more time to train. He should have already started training after Xmas.

Everyone and their cat knew Whyte was likely gonna fight and be the favourite to challenge AJ in April.

Why wait til the fight gets announced to start training?

Boxers should be training anyway all year round. Not like HW’s have to make weight.

It’s all excuses. I’m getting quite sick of Matchroom and AJ and even Whyte.

Everyone else on the Matchroom stable is okay. Maybe apart from Brook.

If he needs more than 3 months to train maybe they should just give the shot to somebody that actually wants it.

He just fought in late December. Not that it was an easy fight, but conditioning should be the last problem. Does he shoot up lard? I haven't seen everything but did whyte say this himself? Or is it fast Eddie saying one of his fighters is ducking the other while wilder and fury duck both of them?

You don't hear of this with Wilder's opponents either. FFS, they made Fury/Wilder without us knowing practically!
