He said that a while ago yes. I believe that this fight be finalized soon, especially as AJ is now signed to take on Miller.

I should note I am as "anti" AJ as most. I thought his last 3 fights have been dull and have exposed him as still learning his craft. I'd make Fury possibly the favourite vs AJ now and I am not a huge Fury fan either in terms of ability. I just see AJ as a product of the state of the division. I've been watching some Bruno fights recently - the comparisons are very accurate. The lack of head movement and general imagination in the ring, they are like clones.

However, I really don't think we can question his resume in terms of who he's beaten and people are talking about an AJ cott like it was the "Roycott" of several years ago. If his next three fights are something like Miller, Whyte 2 and Ortiz and there is still no sign of the WBC champion - then start complaining.

It’s such a typical boxing standoff. You’ve got fish eyes saying if Joshua offers 50/50 then Fury would take it. No shite Sherlock! Hearn saying nobody deserves 50% against Joshua right now ( probably true but we don’t give a Fvck ) Wilder changing his tune on a daily basis

Just fight already
Wilder and Fury want the rematch. Both fighters know that with a clear-cut victory over the other, their showdown with AJ will be that much more profitable. I agree on not giving a shvt on the split with AJ, or anyone for that matter. It doesn't impact my bank account. Like you posted. "Just fight already." If all things go as planned, I can see the Wilder/Fury winner facing AJ late this year.
They say they want the rematch but it’s still not signed. It’s all ‘we are in talks’, where as the first fight took one meeting and a few hours to get signed. Something seems a little off

Perhaps both are away getting their cycles going! Wilder was chatting about wanting to be 245lb for any rematch and Tyson has previous of course.
Seriously though, I’d have expected their rematch to have been signed by now.

Yea agree, I imagine Tyson is wanting a little more this Time. But with the pot seemingly being a lot bigger you would think this would be done very soon! The fight makes complete sense at this time.

The Bruno comparisons are fair but in the Klit fight AJ demonstrated chin, stamina and fitness that Bruno couldn't have dreamed of.

If Joshua v Miller was, it would (well 80k or so).

Splendid. Then you will be fully in agreement.
That’s a surprise as usually you post utter nonsense on any thread which mentions Tyson Fury.

Bruno had a quality chin, he just never took a knee when he should've. AJ does seem to have the edge on fitness, but unless my memory's poor, Bruno was generally in pacier fights. When he slowed them down and finally clinched, as he did against McCall, he won.

Fury wasn't in peak condition versus Wilder, but I also think that Wilder was more than a bit shook. So if Fury turns up at his best for their rematch, it's not a done deal for me until we see how Wilder is mentally. He didn't find the confidence to really go for Fury until late, and that off-balance shot was subpar by his standards. A fitter Fury will handle him better, but if Wilder's inspired by his success to a greater confidence he'll be more of a handful.

I dunno if you can say he had a quality chin because he didn't go down, the lights were on but nobody was in!
He had the McCall fight all at his own pace and still gassed terribly, if he wasn't the home fighter he would have never have able to get away with holding so much.

Unless you're just playing with semantics...

Bruno did NOT have a quality chin.
It was his obvious weak point. It didn't take a lot for him to unravel. Yeah, he was so big and strong, he never actually went down.., but if you lying against the ropes, unconscious, but somehow standing up - it doesn't count as 'having a great chin' in my book.
Or anyone else's.

stujones wrote: 14 Feb 2019, 06:08 I honestly think the backlash is more due to the JOSHUA'S performances as opposed to Eddie's matchmaking. I honestly think Povetkin would wipe the floor with Wilder. There was absolutely nothing wrong with Klitchsko, Takam (remembering it should have been Pulev), Parker and Povetkin..... huge case for Povetkin being better than the WBC champ anyway. ... However, Takam and Parker were dull fights and Joshua did not really impress at all vs Povetkin either.... which is much more the reason why people want to see AJ in better matches.
I think it's Eddie's attitude TBH not the match making/public comments.

Pushing Wilder to quickly sign for the April date at Wembley, then all the public mess with Whyte (whether Whyte is better or worse than Miller is irrelevant, it was played out in public when it shouldn't have been), the comments pre-Wilder Vs Fury (suggesting the bout wouldn't take place) and other comments. Had Eddie kept his mouth shut it would have served Joshua better IMO, and not promised Wembley. Fans are also sick of this whole "sold out in X Minutes" bullshit, when the tickets all end up on Stubhub, and they don't want to be charged PPV every time he fights.

He (Eddie) suggested their was a campaign to avoid fighting Joshua with fighters asking for more money, and compared the situation to that of Canelo. Never has a cash cow struggled to get fights (look at Leonard, De La Hoya, Tyson, Mayweather, Pacquiao and Canelo) yet Joshua is apparently being held up for more money with the penny pinching stuff.

Even today there's an image that Eddie has posted with comparisons of what Joshua, Fury and Wilder did after their first 23 fights, and that's getting backlash.

There is a case to argue that he's keeping his guy's name out there, but having him fight more often (3 or 4 times a year) would allow leniency on the match making front and keep his name out there.

nah, those belts are just belts, big deal. if his wins for the year have been matched by pretty much no other active hw its still a strong year

its not even bad compared to what other unified champs have done

hurd just fought jas welborn
golovkin fought dom wade, marco rubio
kov fought isaac chilemba, nadjib mohammdi
geale became unified then fought ant mundine in his very next fight

and oh lawd dont even get me started on the type of challengers we see all the time for the abc belts across divisions. actually very rare to see someone beat back to back top 10 opponents who have been on ppls radars for years

Richard Dunn, who in an interview for the upcoming fight said, when asked what chance does he have? "I have the two things a boxer needs...A flat nose and a big heart." He was a likable fellow.

I can't answer your question because I don't have a crystal ball and don't know which fights will be made this year. Miller might be one of the best wins this year but if Fury and Wilder rematch the winner of that will be a better win for a start.

The only argument for Joshua vs Miller is it looks great on paper.....you can't seriously make a case for this being a better fight than the likes of Ortiz?youve got people giving it what is Joshua supposed to do,wilder & fury are tied up with each other, yeah that's as may be,but to my knowledge Ortiz ain't retired is he...... Miller isn't the only option at all

I agree Oiky but criticising Hearn or God forbid Joshua doesn't go down well here just now.
