That's rough headlining your card in a ring that's one big advertisement for someone else's upcoming fight.

Looks like a genuine achilles - shame for Doudou and the fans.
WTF was the ref doing ?
He either fights on our retires - you don't get 5 minutes to see if your leg is ok.

That was definitely too much time taken to make that decision.

That was acting lol
He didn't want to get eventually knocked out. Now he gets a "story" and another fight at some point and another paycheck.

Why not employ a referee that knows the rules? Wtf was he thinking giving an illegitimate 5 minute break!? A guy gets an injury, it's unfortunate, but you can take a knee & a count, or its TKO.
Farce.

Well I was full of sympathy thinking it was a snapped achilles.
The skankstress had one last year and it's horrible - and she wasn't even fighting Gvodzyk !
But a calf injury ?!
That stinks.

Boxing is a very simple sport with very simple rules but still too complicated for the retarded crooks that run it.

Expecting to be shot and killed in battle, Ngumbu ran into prison and locked the door behind him. So brave. So courageous. Give that man his plate of spaghetti and a glass of water.

Commissioner said the time to recover was given because It was treated as an accidental foul.
How is injuring your calf an accidental foul?
These people are hardly crooks. They're not smart enough.
They just don't know the rules. That's why boxing always comes across as amateur stuff.

The ending of the fight was even more disappointing, than the mismatch nature of it. Hopefully Gvodzyk fights in the unification next.

Kavaliauskas won the fight for me. Still he has no business in ring with top WW. He had no plan B aggainst Robinson. Maybe he can try his luck against Ugas or Porter, but Spence and Crawford will eat him alive IMO.
Looking forward to Gvozdyk vs Browne, Ngumbu was mismatch

In this case they were just doing what comes naturally, being stupid, but don't mistake that for being honest. They'd probably be even extra stupid if you slipped them a few sheckels. When Wilder was rubber legged in round 8 vs. Ortiz and they stopped the fight to give him a medical checkup the announcers were yelling "they can't do that!" then too. This is boxing you can be stupid and a crook both together anytime. Nobody cares.

Are you still going on about Wilder-Ortiz as you have done under your other pseudonyms?
It was more than a year ago. Been there, done with it.
The Pennsylvania commission hardly seemed to be conspiring to engage in skulldugerry.
If it was, they would likely have favored the A side champion and quickly ruled Ngumbu out of the fight.
It appeared to be more a case of not understanding boxing rules, which is common in the sport.
The commissioner and the referee were somehow under the assumption that a calf injury somehow must result from an accidental foul.
They were apparently apprised differently by the ESPN crew and quickly reversed course.

Doudou Ngumbu suffered a torn ligament in his right calf Saturday night during his TKO loss to light heavyweight world titlist Oleksandr Gvozdyk, Pennsylvania State Athletic Commission executive director Greg Sirb told ESPN on Wednesday.
The fight was stopped in the fifth round when referee Eric Dali and the ring doctor determined Ngumbu was unable to continue because of the injury.
"We have him on 'indefinite medical suspension' pending clearance of calf muscle and Achilles heel," Sirb said. "I've seen guys twist their ankles real bad, but I've never seen a torn ligament like that.
"He was in the hospital for a couple of hours, they fitted him some type of boot," added Sirb, who says that Ngumbu has since flown back to France.
It was a rather bizarre ending to a fight that was for the most part uneventful for the first several rounds.
Sirb also said that he had no problems with the referee calling a halt to the action and taking a few minutes to figure things out.
"Nobody wants to see the fight end that way," said Sirb, "but I wanted to make sure the interpreter asked [Ngumbu] point blank if he could continue."
