I'd give him shout vs any of the champions at SMW currently. People talk about him like he is this sub domestic level fighter who gets given shot after shot based on his name alone. Remember he ran BJS very very close and lots think he threw that fight away by basically not waking up till the second half of that fight. He also has some very decent British / European level wins at Middleweight.... so he aint a bad fighter and as I said, I think the division is quite wide open now.

He can only beat what is put up in front of him..... Smith would start as favourite, but I'd give Eubank a chance.... the rest of them are pretty much 50:50.

My suspicion is it might be Dirrel next, given the PBC ties?

Dirrell is the fight to make... Unification ;-)

How does everyone rate his chances?

Style wise Dirrell is a difficult customer although I think he is past his best, and not as good as his brother.

Well done you became the least knowledgeable poster on this forum. Says a lot
And sorry, couldn’t resist adding to that. You do know GGG beat Canelo for a second time in most experts eyes

Yes I know that.

Yet you will never see that GGG again. I'm assuming you thought the De Gale of five years ago was going to beat Eubank the other night.?, that Ali was going to beat Larry Holmes in the 80's because of his win over Liston in the 60's?. Even if they fought next, GGG would be 37, the two Canelo fights would have emptied the tank pretty much entirely, and made him a very rich man. Combine this with with a near year out of the ring and what you will have is an opportunity to take on a former great at his most vulnerable. Whoever GGG fights next at world level will be a value bet to beat him, primarily because of this 'expert' opinion you speak of.
i get your point, things can change fast with fighters, although tbf degales last two meaningful fights before this were 1-1 very tough fights with caleb truax, whereas ggg still just went super close with a top p4p fighterr

thats nothing like a guy being obviously shot or pretty much kaput before hand. ggg still showed high quality even though he lost
GGG wasn't obviously shot no, he and Canelo fought 24 rounds by which time you settle into a rhythm, you get used to the weight of shot and know where the shot is coming from, even if you don't get out of the way, its not coming as a surprise. If they fought a third time it would probably still be close for those reasons. It would mask the fact that at 37 years old and naturally fading reflexes he may struggle against a new unorthodox style. This isn't Bernie Hopkins, this is a come forward fighter that gets hit a lot, a man of 300 amateur fights before turning pro. He came from from nothing, has just earned 8 figures and is on a very long holiday.

I think he'll be done now, history tells you he'll be done soon enough either way. What pleases me is the 'experts' would believe Eubank would have no chance, which presents a money making opportunity.

It's all immaterial anyways he'll sign for DAZN, hope Canelo comes through Jacobs and wait for that.

he'd absolutely butcher Eubank.

I must have missed the fight where Eubank evolved from a fairly basic boxer with a good engine but limited defence into the new Herol Graham/Sweet Pea Whittaker...

eubank is nothing but a bull, any time he comes up against anyone who is not extinct , or has a bit of footwork and skill, he is getting beat.
smith would play with him. ggg would still knock him out. im not even convinced lemieux wouldnt beat him . the only decent puncher he fought was groves, and that was because he didnt have a choice...that and the fact that he was clearly past his best.
eubanks level is the caleb truaxs, past it dirrels ,john ryders and the like
he is never gonna beat prime ,top class fighters

What new style? throwing 7 uppercuts in a row in bursts and having no foot movement. They should teach that

You didnt miss that, it didnt happen and noone said it had.

You missed that history always predicts the future, Golovkin is now on the decline.

No, a new style as in something other than 12 months and 24 rounds of Canelo.

There's a definate fixation with Eubank Jr here and amongst the general public!!

Mate, stop embarrassing yourself with the constant changing of goalposts. It is there in black and white in the quote above that you've said he may struggle against a new unorthodox style, which is clearly a reference to Eubank Jr, given you're seeking to defend your earlier 50/50 claim.
It's been pointed out to you by various posters that Jr has anything but an unorthodox style and has struggled any time he has faced anyone with a decent jab, timing and control of distance, so now you're switching again to a general claim that Golovkin is on the decline.

Eubanks style isn't unorthodox

It's just a very fit & conditioned man throwing wild punches, easy for any boxer to get past just by using all the fundamentals Eubank lacks

Jnr could be lethal if he could box, what with his fitness & that, but if my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle

I go back and forth on him a bit, but I’ve always enjoyed watching him fight. Always puts in 100% effort, despite his technical shortcomings, and is always aggressive.

By all accounts, he’s actually a fairly personable guy as well, most of the bluster is just for show. And obviously his crazy dad gets in the way a lot.

Junior is a pretty crap boxer but the only person that has beaten him easily is Groves and even he had a tough last couple of rounds. BJS is a very silled boxer but he had a real tussle with Junior and was out hustled in the second half of their fight. I don't think Junior is top class at all but he seems to give them all a hard night. He would get mullered by anyone elite such as GGG

I think it would be a fun fight to watch though.

Smith is pretty comfortable firing hooks to the body on the inside. Could be quite an exciting fight whilst it lasted.

Honestly? Nigel Benn would be fun. Reckon old Nige has still got it in him.

Nothing else excites me really from Zippy head.

I have no desire to see Benn punched in the head again but he’s evidently still in decent shape...

Call me crazy but I give Eubank Jnr A shot against Smith. He won’t have to go looking for Smith: that’s what he struggles with most.

He’s much better when fighters come to him. I mean he demolished Yildirim who went on to run Dirrell very close. Eubank Jr is no great but he’s not as bad as he would sometimes lead you believe by his poor front foot game.

No idea why it didn’t happen but I’m glad it didn’t. Benn still seems to be an absolute competitive animal and I’m enjoying the various videos you can find on YouTube of him working the pads with current boxers...
