I didn't say, that it was bad.boxing_rocks wrote: ↑05 May 2019, 15:47 Such a bad quality for a boxer - being good at slugging and having a 100% KO ratio![]()

I don't know how Beterbiev would look against Kovalev or Gvozdyk, but I am pretty sure he would maul smaller Bivol and slow LHW version of Ward. Betterbiev is better than Ward in the only skill Ward had advantage against Kovelev in - inside game and he is as tough mentally as Ward. For every low blow, Ward would get one back.

The round had just started.boxing_rocks wrote: ↑05 May 2019, 11:03 Terrible stoppage??? It should have been stopped much earlier. Kal couldn't walk straight for at least 5 minutes and was taking terrible punishment.
Re: Artur Beterbiev vs. Radivoje Kalajdzic - May 4, 2019
i thought it was premature, beterbiev was putting a beat down on for the most part, but kala had just hurt bert a bit the round before and had his own best moments
shouldve at least seen how that barrage played out before jumping in

I don't know. The ref was concerned enough to call in the ring doctor before the start of round 5. Kalajdzic didn't seem to have any steam left. Maybe one more flurry? It was inevitable.

Rod should not have been allowed to start that round.

This might sound cold but Beterbiev needs to face his fellow eastern block fighters to prove himself - having a 100% KO ratio is a recipe for disaster..

He said that he wants unification next, so that would be a Russian/Ukrainian (same thing) opponent.kbackup408 wrote: ↑05 May 2019, 18:45 This might sound cold but Beterbiev needs to face his fellow eastern block fighters to prove himself - having a 100% KO ratio is a recipe for disaster..

Stop it in the corner if he only gets a few seconds. Don't get me wrong, I don't think he was winning but someone blindfolded could land a bomb on beterbiev.
Re: Artur Beterbiev vs. Radivoje Kalajdzic - May 4, 2019
It was weird, I'll say that. Checking on him and then stopping it after a few seconds of the next round was a bit odd. He wasn't any more hurt than before the bell, IMHO.Onetimeonly wrote: ↑05 May 2019, 20:07 Stop it in the corner if he only gets a few seconds. When the fighter barely complains, then you know the stoppage was a correct one.

should be interesting, Beterbiev is an excellent fighter (both ammy + pro) think he will be found out against Bivol and Gvozdykboxing_rocks wrote: ↑05 May 2019, 19:07 He said that he wants unification next, so that would be a Russian/Ukrainian (same thing) opponent.

Re: Artur Beterbiev vs. Radivoje Kalajdzic - May 4, 2019
With the ease in which Artur Beterbiev turned away the challenge of Radivoje ‘Hot Rod’ Kalajdzic, the stiffer competition—it seems—turned out to be the fight for viewership.
The unbeaten light heavyweight titlist made his official debut as a Top Rank-exclusive boxer in his May 4 win over Kalajdzic at the Stockton Arena in Stockton, Calif. The title fight topped an ESPN tripleheader which produced a telecast average of 480,000 viewers according to Nielsen Media Research.
An exclusive rebroadcast on ESPN—which aired at 1:45am ET—drew another 126,000 viewers, bringing the combined total to more than 600,000 viewers on a hectic Saturday night of sports activity.
The primetime figure is the second lowest since Top Rank and ESPN began its boxing series in 2017, and also 25% below the 2019 season average of 640,500 viewers through its first six lineal telecasts on the year. In barely escaping the bottom of the list, Saturday’s show provided barely more than a 2% increase over the March 23 low point which was topped by heavyweight contender Kubrat Pulev’s knockout win over Bogdan Dinu.

What did you expect from a card topped by two white guys with weird names and no decent Mexicans or blacks? More importantly, that card was against Canelo vs Jacobs loaded card.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑07 May 2019, 17:27 With the ease in which Artur Beterbiev turned away the challenge of Radivoje ‘Hot Rod’ Kalajdzic, the stiffer competition—it seems—turned out to be the fight for viewership.
