Will wait for the result then jump on the bandwagon of the winner and pretend I was there from the beginning.

He's not a super prospect but you don't have to be to beat Gorman. Efe is my favorite prospect, but he has to answer a lot of questions before I anoint him.

Yeah I was talking in a general sense rather than specifically in relation to the Gorman fight.

I agree on Efe. Great puncher but defensively a bit sketchy.

I like what I’ve seen of Dubios. Yes he can look a little heavy in the legs and he leaves his chin out a bit more than I’d like bit possibly he hasn’t properly respected the power of his opponents either yet.

Gorman’s a good boxer who throws well put together combos with fast hands for a big guy so I’m sure he’ll find Dubios during the fight. I don’t think he’s got the power to deter DD though.

DD’s jab is the key to the fight for me. It’s a decent shot but he can be guilty of under using it a bit. If he can get his jab off from the start, especially to the body as Gorman comes in I can see him bossing the range and setting up his big back hand later on.

Dubios around the 8th for me - it’s a good enough fight for me to not be overly surprised if either wins though

Kinda wish we had a poll for this.
It would probably be around 60/40 for DDD.
Gorman is training his arse off according to Ricky Hatton. I can see the importance of stamina for Nate. The way I see it is Gorman leading on points until he steps off the gas and Dubie stops him.
Whatever the end result, the British HW division needs more of this type of match up. I'm over all these imported tomato cans fighting British up and comers (protecting the "0") when so many good domestic matchs like this could be made.

I got a feeling that Gorman will win this. Dubois will be throwing some big shots but I think he has the chin and defence to ride the storm. Ultimately skills pay the bills and Gorman will outwork him, pick him apart and might stop DD late on.

I think Dubois will stop Gorman. I don't even see it being close.

I think we will find out quite early on, either Gorman will be able to handle him or he wont

True. Certainly within three rounds. Hats to both for taking this fight! Refreshing.

Think DD could be chasing shadows tbh, very slow footed and another that has to plant his feet to throw, while Nathan can punch on the move and has more fluidity, faster hands and better combinations and body punching imo, if DD doesn’t and can’t jump on Gorman and get to him early or Gorman shows he can take DD power and handle the much naturally bigger and stronger Dubois, then I see Gorman winning quite clear on points, good fight though, fair play to both young fighters taking this so early in their careers

I can understand all the points you have made, but do you think Gorman has enough pop to get respect from Dubois? In DD's last two fights he didn't respect the opponents power, took their shots, only to land his own bigger ones :maybe:

I don’t think so if you go by records and previous fights, but there big men in small gloves so anything can happen, but he might not need that big firepower, there is different types of punchers tbh, there is the thudding type who everything they hit you with rattled through your bones, the GGG’s, Kovalevs, Klitchskos, even Joe Joyce then there is the electric shock type punchers that hit with speed, which send shooting pains down to your toes in your boots lol and make you see white flashes lol and them are the ones who usually turn your lights clean out, you don’t see them coming the Julian Jackson, Canelo, types, where as for me Dubois will have to plant his feet to land that big clubbing power he has, you know them types of fighters so usually can read and see them shots coming and brace yourself and absorb most of them (never the less sickening mind due lol) so if Gorman has his tactics and is on point he can keep DD off balance and keep turning him and break him down but will need to be busy on the jab, even doubling and trebling it up, mixing it up and down to the body, heavy and light again mixing the power and tempo, and DD like I said could be chasing shadows mate and get broke up coming in the straight lines he fights in, interesting fight though, should be good, again fair play to both of them, real fight, we will see by this if DD is everything they think he can be

I appreciate the detailed response :TU:
Reading between the lines a little, I surmise the question I proposed is also one not fully resolved in your mind either ;-)
It is a great way to see if DD is "all that".
Personally I'm cheering for Nate, I like the cut of his gib, and appreciate his skills and fortitude in taking this fight.

It's a 50/50 fight imho.

If Gorman loses he's still an all-around better boxer than Dubois skill wise. Has more tools. But even a good boxer can be banged out of there.

Dubois may just be the "next big thing" but imho this fight should have happened earlier on. Letting fights "marinate" have only demonstrated unexpected things can happen.

It'll be a hard fight to pick. It's basically who can land first, or counter first. Gorman could do it because he's faster and hits from more angles, but Dubois is bigger and stronger. If Dubois throws and misses, he may just pay for it dearly.

Head movement will be a significant factor in there. Dubois fights straight up, and that may be to his detriment against a guy who has been campaigning for this fight since day one.

To answer your question short and sweet, yes it’s not resolved in my mind yet mate  should be good fight though, think this is the test for both where we shall see though

Loving this fight. I’ll say Dubois in first 5 rounds, beyond that I fancy Gorman to take control and win.

We will learn a lot about both guys here which is why we’re all loving it.

Great to see this match made. An early loss is no big deal: lookmat Dillian Whyte.

I think Dubois takes but wouldn’t surprise me if Gorman causes him a few problems with his head movement & speed of hand and foot.

I'd be surprised if Gorman doesn't win this one handily. Dubois is quite clearly a heavy-handed, dangerous lump but he appears unsophisticated and should be easy enough to figure out for the savvy Gorman.
