They renamed it that in the 90's i believe , original game was Raving Bonkers , i have been told the first game was made much better but i've never played rockem sockem, it looks similar though...

Here in the US it was always Rockim' Sockim' Robots. I had it in the early 70's as a kid.

Joyce: Ustinov Win Proves I'm A Credible Opponent For Joshua

Alexander Ustinov is 42 years old and was knocked out in his previous fight.

Joe Joyce still believes that the way he beat Ustinov on Saturday night disproved promoter Eddie Hearn’s contention that “Juggernaut” isn’t a credible opponent for Great Britain’s biggest boxing star. Hearn indicated recently that Joyce hasn’t accomplished enough during his 1½-year pro career to warrant consideration for a fight against Anthony Joshua.

“Well, there you go,” Joyce told IFL TV in a post-fight interview Saturday night. “The proof’s in the pudding. You tell Eddie, you know, winning this fight like that, before Hunter, proves to the world, and to Eddie, that I am a credible opponent [for Joshua].”

England’s Joyce, meanwhile, is scheduled to return to the ring July 13. The 6-feet-6, 261-pound contender’s opponent hasn’t been secured for his fight on the Daniel Dubois-Nathan Gorman undercard at O2 Arena in London.

“Well, I’ve got an idea and a few names in the hat,” Joyce said. “But until it’s all signed off, then, you know, I’m not gonna mention any names.”

When asked if former WBA champion Alexander Povetkin is among that group of potential opponents, Joyce replied, “Yeah, that’s an interesting fight. That’s one of the names, yeah. Possibly, yeah. I wanna be up against a really good opponent on July 13th. You know, it’s gonna be a massive heavyweight showdown that day, with, you know, three of us fighting – me, obviously, Daniel and Nathan.”

If Joyce wants to be a serious contender, then he must have a couple of more step-up fights. Or else he'll be in way over his head. Beating Ustinov (as we all know) doesn't mean he's ready for Joshua. Or any other top 10 HW.

They oughta call him 'slow Joyce' aha...hahaha...haha....ehhhh

They must have renamed it over here i guess ? The head on the robots used to pop up on a metal ratchet. It made one hell of a noise too.
Brilliant game, I might keep my eye out for one for my kids - it was good fun.

Agree, Lewison was his toughest fight to press (not including Usyk) I'd like to see him get some rounds in but ultimately where is he going ? Has he ever changed his style ? Can he change his style ?

points taken. He doesn't have to change styles, just adopt a simple defense like Foreman's cross arms. Anything would be an improvement.

Looking at Boxrec's top 10 heavies, Kownacki, Parker, Pulev, Ortiz and Miller occupy the bottom half. Joyce should be able to beat any of them if he's going anywhere. Miller I expect will be suspended for a while, but why not fight two of the others in quick succession and make a statement? Could be up for a title fight start of 2020.

None of the aforementioned seem to have a fight lined up.

Regardless what people think about Joyce he is fighting opponents way above anything that another heavyweight novices would ever fight. He deserves credit for that. 9 fights and taking on fringe world class opposition.

Nah, it was rock em sock em in the uk as far back I recall, I'm sure they were around in the late 70s

That's like slow motion compared to most capoeira, it's odd, he must have great balance, but he seems really really slow.

Most of 'em don't have to life that sort of bulk off the floor tho.

I've started doing it every Sunday as a family activity at a local boxing gym, it's quite good fun.

I really like him,he is slow but he's going to be in some exciting fights in the near future and will be very difficult to beat due to his shear size and work rate alone.Of course there is the chance he will get bombed out with a single big shot but it's going to be fun watching him challenge the top guys.

I kind of would like to see Joyce take on Breazeale at this point. I think it would be a good fight. Great scalp on Joyce's ledger.

I think if Joyce turns out to be more powerful as a pro than amateur, and has a really good chin, he could go far, the trouble is, he has very little time left in his career, so very little time to waste, or time to learn.

33 is nowt for a heavyweight. He's got a minimum of seven years before he'll start to slide, particularly with his type of style. He could go until well in his forties.
