That 'draw' was indeed a bad decision. But that 'draw' gave to GGG a second fat payday.

Derevo was so excited that he tweeted the fight announcement too early and had to delete it:

Facing Sergiy Derevyanchenko is a potential “banana skin” for GGG, especially considering the fact the Kazakhstani boxer will be approaching 38 years of age come fight night and seems past-his-best.
In my mind, the unheralded Ukraine is clearly the third best fighter Gennadiy has ever shared the ring with and GGG is taking a huge risk of losing the opportunity to face Canelo for the third time if he’s somehow upset.
Golovkin “should” be the favourite to win this fight and if he has anything left in the tank, he’ll emerge victorious, but this is one of the few occasions where I honestly believe an upset is a realistic possibility, because as we’ve seen in the past, sometimes a fighter can seemingly grow old overnight.

Indeed Derevyanchenko is a dangerous opponent for GGG and I'm a little concerned about how much gas has left in G's tank. At 38 y/o G is old enough to be in trouble against a top young mw fighter like Derevyanchenko. Tough fight for G.
