That was a weird fight indeed during the build up, am sure Old Floyd trained Hatton but seemed to be a terrible fit for him as a trainer. I really rate Floyd as a boxer but I’m not a fan of the persona he presents. Also his woman bullying fetish is very off putting.

Neither tbh. Watched it as a mutual fan.
I thought FMJ would win, which he did. The winner of the fight didn’t bother me as long as I got a good fight. Although ref ruined it. Back then I wasn’t too much into the politics, refs, judges etc.
Around the same time we had the Calzaghe vs. Hopkins as well.
What did you make of Cakzaghe Hopkins? Strange fight.

It’s looked like a close win for Calzaghe but when I rewatched it in slow motion it appeared a master class in slipping and countering by Hopkins.

Nah, Hopkins got hit plenty in that fight, far more than he hit Joe. He was put into a shell and mentally beaten up, a sulking baby who looked like he wanted out at times. No idea how people think he won that, sometimes I think they just assume that becase it was Hopkins it must've been a 'schooling' 'masterclass' 'old school' 'crafty' etc. I think Hopkins could take a dump in the middle of the ring and some people would call it effective boxing
Thankfully the guy who clearly deserved to win got the decision. To me that's the fight where I think more than any other that gets debated a lot, I simply cannot see the one side of the argument.

Safe bet considering he barely beat the Hopkins that he did fight.

I've never thought the decision was debatable.
Similarly some of Canelo's fights I don't see the controversy at all. I remember some being up in arms about the decision in Canelo's favor against Cotto which absolutely mystified me as it wasn't even close to me. I thought Canelo beat Lara clear too, but some disagree on that. It was closer than Cotto I'll say that much.
I'm sure there are other "controversial" decisions that don't strike me as controversial.

It was a great KO percentage - but the opponents weren't great and lots of cumilative punches. His hand injuries coincided also with a step up in class so I don't think we will never know how hard a real puncher Joe was.
He didn't half moan on sky when he was going through that poor run (e.g. David Starie fight).

I've never really felt the love for the PacMan, but that pales into insignificance to AJ.
I like watching AJ fights - who doesn't? - but he seemed so manufactured.
It was almost like Fast Eddie told Britain he was a huge, marketable star and it happened by decree. I never got that.

I felt pretty happy that Calzaghe was the better man on the night when I watched it live. Hopkins rolling about was very lame for a man of his stature although he did win some rounds it seemed to me Calzaghe bossed the fight.
However someone on here, was years back, posted up saying how Calzaghe had been licked and how controversial the decision was, giving this slow motion video of the fight as evidence. I was stoned out ma nut that night so just watched the whole fight in slow motion and was surprised how many punches Calzaghe missed and how many clean counters Hopkins landed it was like a different fight. Like I said strange fight.

I was never a fan around the starie fight I found him Joe pretty boring and never thought he'd go on to do what he did

He knocked loads of people out, not much decree in that.

I like most boxers in the main.
I thought Mayweather was a masterful boxer but I can't stand him or the legally assisted farce that was his final set of comeback fights.
In British terms I never took to Froch or Khan.
And this might come as a huge shock to others on here but I can't really take to Joshua either.
Edit: forgot Canelo Alvarez. What was I thinking!? Complete ar*e.
