Apparently, David has withdrawn from his planned fight on October 16th, saying he's still not right after the Price fight. He's also deleted his twitter account after reportedly making a controversial post, hinting at killing at himself.
Let's hope it's not as bad as it sounds.
Yes I saw that tweet, worrying, Hope he's ok.

Dave spent far too much time on Twitter. He was constantly tweeting, all day every day. After watching last nights documentary with Jesy out of Little Mix regarding social media and its effects on people I think Dave was addicted to it and could not stay away from Twitter. He was generally defending himself and replying to Tweets he should just have ignored. When you have to rely on social media platforms for chat with people you have no idea who they are and are constantly looking through all the media gossip channeled at you there is something wrong. I only followed Dave on Twitter so not sure if he was on any other platforms but in my opinion it took over his life. I just dont know when he found time for himself. Its a shame but hes not the only person who is constantly on these websites, sometimes I think you need to give your head a shake and say enough is enough of constantly wasting your life going through all these communication platforms and not having any social life. In one way im glad Dave has deleted his Twitter and hope he has done the same with any others he is on and take some time out for himself.

Hi everyone, I will not be fighting October 19th, my frame of mind is not one I believe I can put together any kind of training camp for this fight and ultimately physically I am not feeling ready to compete October 19th and at the moment even beyond that but I will cross that bridge when it comes to it, I made and make comments all the time that people will questionand furthermore blow up to create headlines or drama but for me there just how I feel and the norm, I will be taking some time off social media and spending time back in the real world as I feel this is something I have needed to do for a long time, I don’t have the want or the need for anyone’s sympathy hatred or anything in between, I will be back I always am but I’m going to be David for a while the white rhino is tired x
“My frame of mind is not one I believe I can put together any kind of training camp for this fight, and ultimately physically I am not feeling ready to compete Oct. 19,” he wrote on Instagram. Allen, 27, indicates that he expects he will return down the line, but that he’s looking to go “(spend) time back in the real world” for now.
“I’m going to be David for a while, ‘The White Rhino’ is tired,” he added.

He does seem to respond to every tweet, no matter how pudendum like the poster is being.
I've been genuinely shocked by how many complete arseholes there appear to be on Twitter (I haven't used it much until recently), who spend their time chucking abuse at anyone with a bit of a public profile.
Even Enzo Mac, a nice guy if there ever was one, has to put up with it, there's one guy constantly slagging him for getting stopped by Haye, who puts "just banter" at the end of every moronic tweet. Shorthand for "I'm a massive, massive twat", obviously.

Never used twitter, never will but my Mrs does and says it’s basically just people abusing other people, why celebs have it is beyond me, having to look at people slagging them off all day long

I don’t dig Twitter. I went on it once and followed a load of boxers. It didn’t work for me though.

A bit like Fury, I think Allen might be bipolar.
I just hope to god he’s invested his money better since punting it all off as he’s surely had some decent paydays since then.

He bought himself a detached house and his sister runs his 2 flats he’s bought for renting - I think his plan was beat Price and get another £250k to fight Povetkin then bail out but it went wrong.

His sister is probably rinsing him. Allen doesn’t seem the business minded guy.

He’s already earned well considering his actual talent. It’s a hard game and he’s done much better than most and better than those with more talent too.
Can’t feel too sorry for someone who’s had his opportunities. Nobody owes anyone a living. He needs to lay off social media, stop taking himself too seriously and enjoy himself a bit.
Not sure I buy all this tortured soul stuff either. It’s becoming a little bit popular.
‘Oh look at me I don’t feel motivated’ etc
Nah mate, you’re just very average, motivated or not. Deal with it

It's hard for me to have sympathy for those who bare their souls on Twitter and the like. Social media as a whole has evolved into a toxic medium which bases itself on narcissism and abuse and those who sell themselves on it are putting fuel in the engine.

Glad he's left the social media,
I left facebook and twitter about 8 years ago as there full of scammers and crooks.
I know a few people who have been robbed cos of letting all the facebook world know there out the house and even posted pictures of there rooms so the crooks can pick what there going to pinch before doing the crime.
This boxing forum and a few fantasy footy sites enough for me,
So David stay of social media for good and get on with life and been a decent guy. Good luck lad

The problem is that if it wasn’t for social media he would be lucky to get £500 for fighting at Rotherham leisure centre

I remember hearing that Price shouldn't be allowed to fight Dave Allen, for the sake of Price's health, but now I wonder about Allen. He was saying some questioning things about his health, both physical and mental, and has taken so many shots. But then, he also seems the type of guy who if he didn't have boxing might go downhill.

Dubs is kinda just a better fitter stronger price, why go back into that strait away. Love the balls but rather see him with someone that can't jab his head off from the other side of the ring.
