i reckon carroll can do him, jono has got a great work rate , quigg is fadding
He’s still a level above Carroll if injuries haven’t taken their toll.
i agree he was but is quigg still at that level, cause if he aint he will lose,i think. as i see jono is inproving still ,and he is getting better fighting better fighters , quigg has had some wars though , its good a good fight

It's hard to predict how much Quigg has left, especially up at Super Feather, since the loss to Frampton his careers hit thr skids, he was well beaten by Valdez and he struggled against Simion, he's had a couple of ok stoppages in there as well to suggest he's not totally done but after another long spell of inactivity who knows how his bodys holding up, he's got a lot of miles on the clock
Carroll is pretty crude, cant punch but is strong and relentless, his punch output is phenomenal, something like 1200 thrown against Farmer, still a good Scott Quigg beats the best Jono Carroll with his quality
I want Quigg to win I've always liked him, he was always fan friendly back in the Friday Fight Night days, I have a feeling he might struggle with Carroll's aggression, might be messy and Carroll grinds out a decision, wouldnt be surprised to see it stopped on a cut either

Wouldn’t surprise me if Carroll wins this, it’s all depending on how truly tough he is. Styles wise it’ll be a tear up, I expect Quigg to win though but wouldn’t surprise me if carrol wins, Quigg has a lot of wear and tear
I tend to agree. The deciding factor is Quigg and his fitness. If there were no injury niggles in camp, and he was able to train fully- then he takes it. Otherwise, like you, I wouldn't be surprised if Jono scraped out a win.

I do know though , if my missis was to watch his interviews , i know what she'd say ,, she would look at me and say ,,, Its a shame for him is'nt it , the dozen eggs are are there but there getting scrambled at the moment , is'nt it a shame . He seems such a nice young fella .,,,,,,,, Worrying thing about it is after a lot of years around boxing , she can usually pick it

Quigg's been talking like that from day 1. He's not going to be the next Albert Einstein. He needs a coach in there who can think for him. Joe Gallagher isn't exactly the Manny Steward of trainers.

The Frampton fight still grates with me. He literally did fornicate all then was suprised that he was behind. I’m a bitter so and so but I’ve just struggled with him since as I was proper rooting for him and the fight was first rate piss.

Yep i agree. Injuries and ring rust may play a part here. Id back carroll just on those factors

Good match up. Could turn out to be a very hard fight, but if Quigg is still on-point you have to favour him to prevail with his high level experience.

Yup, i think Quigg will have way too much for Jono. Levels, Quigg by mid rounds stoppage imo.

Same for me. I see Quigg gradually breaking him down and stopping him mid-late rounds.

I don’t think Roach did Quigg any favours.
The game plan seemed to be we’ve got a great chin so let’s take 3 to land 3.
Being back with Gallagher will help him.
Agree with 1 and 2, but not therefore 3 ?
Gallagher-trained Quigg was exactly the same. Always felt TJ was guilty of that as a trainer - thinking of John Murray in particular.

Be funny if his mam had phoned him to jump in to the shop for a pint of milk and a loaf on his way to the ring. Twat

Gallagher. We don’t seem to have seen so much of him in the last couple of years do we? Couple of lads moved on or retired or whatever.
It means there hasn’t been a reference to the noncing of dogs for about a year.
Here’s one now then to cheer everyone up

Carroll looks massive mind. Quiggs usually the stronger man, think he will need to be at least 70% of what he was to win.

We have a fight!
Both Jono Carroll and Scott Quigg weighed successfully ahead of their eagerly anticipated super featherweight clash tomorrow night.
Dublin’s Carroll tipped the scales at 9st 4lbs while former super bantamweight world champion Scott Quigg came in at 9st 3lns 60z.
Post making weight the pair went head to head and as expected it got a bit tasty. ‘King Kong’ invaded Quigg’s space whilst he stood on the scales and prompted the Bury man to push him away.
Come head to head time some distance was kept and things were more relaxed Carroll in particular seemed to be enjoying the moment.
