I think he'll lose a fairly close decision that will elevate him. Though Linares didn't get any shine off of the over the top lomalove, teofimo might.

Because guys that lose probably shouldn't get shine. Teo will be considered an overrated if he loses to Loma. Though Luke Campbell did gain some credibility after losing to Loma but no shine.

Nonsense, losses to top fighters in competitive fights are better than most wins. Nobody faults loma for losing to salido. Nor should they, it was his second fight.

Lopez is 22
15-0 [12KO'S]
Pro ... About 3 years

He's turning a lot of heads and making noise that's for sure.
Is Lomachenko a little early for him ?

Maybe, maybe not.. Some boxers will defend their belts in endless and meaningless fights, if Lopez wants to challenge himself, and promotion-wise, it's an easy fight to make, then why not. he can come back win-lose-draw.

Did fans call Canelo a hype when he lost to FMJ? I can't remember, but why should he? FMJ is an artist in the boxing ring, just like Loma is.

No matter what you're name is, there is no shame in losing to Loma at any point in your career. Even now, I don't think Thurman's stock dropped further after losing to Pac.

Plenty of examples that's for sure.
15-0 sounds like an opportunity, but for who ?

Lomachenko-Lopez may take place in Saudi Arabia

Promoter of Ukrainian boxer speaks on potential venues for the unification bout

The head of the promotion company Top Rank Inc., Bob Arum, talked about the preparation of Vasyl Lomachenko’s bout against Teofimo Lopez, Boxing scene reports.

“Lomachenko is fighting Lopez, that is done. Now the question is the site of the fight. We have Madison Square Garden bidding against Barclays in Brooklyn and we are also getting a bid from Saudi Arabia to do that fight,” Arum stated.

According to Vasyl’s promoter, the date of the unification bout will depend on the venue.

“It will be April, or a worst case scenario it would be in May if it went to Saudi Arabia because it would be after Ramadan (the Muslim holy month that finishes on May 23),” he added.

As we reported earlier, WBC, WBA, and WBO lightweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko has talked on his future rival Teofimo Lopez, who he is expected to fight against in mid-April 2020.

Lomachenko was not able to “gather” extra information from Lopez’s previous bout against Richard Commey.

“To be honest, I did not have enough time to fully understand what happened, but in the two rounds that I saw I got the feeling that Lopez has flaws and problems in defense, so in one round, in the first round, he managed to take so many of Commey’s punches, and many of those did not need to be taken,” Vasyl emphasized.

Yep, big BIG difference in losing to someone like Loma and say for example somene like Inoue or Wilder.

One can be considered a serious education and the other a serious health hazard.

My point is most guy never reach the level about the guy they lost to. Once most guys loss the have reach there level. My thought is if he loses to Loma he will never be the #1 guy in any division. What guy has loss to Loma and being at a better level. They came back and was a star after in any division? Most don't become bigger after a loss.

So Louis; Lewis; Ali; Foreman; Robinson; Leonard; Hearns; Monzon; etc are exceptions?

Canelo got HUMILIATED by Floyd and it still didn't hurt him. He was hurt more by dropping a MW belt and beating Khan, drained JCCJ and Liam Smith.

Ha! Me too, last night.
I like the cut of his gib as well, and was trying to see where he could get the better of Loma.
Honestly, I don't know.
Lopez does have the "X-factor" though.

I think he's talking about hypejobs, not boxers who are more motivated by a loss like Loma, Hopkins, Hagler, and Martinez.

Losing is a negative. Nobody once to be considered a loser. If you want to say a loss COULD be a learning process but most times your just not good enough. A loss is Never a good thing.
