I’m a little bit Tommy over Leonard but not rabidly so, but listening to Hagler cheer him on does actually make me want Hearns to beat his ass. Something about Haglers vehemence made me feel either he thought Hearns was a dude (possible) Leonard was a prick (certain) or both. His vehemence brings me along with him. Benn was the same boosting for Watson over Eubank in the second fight.

Anyone remember when Rawling went full-Partridge during one of the B0xnati0n Russian cards, and spent about 10 straight minutes only talking about all the pretty girls around the arena? Barry Jones was blatantly really uncomfortable with it and kept trying to steer him back to the boxing, but Rawling wasn’t to be dissuaded.

Both, lol, but as much as he respected Tommy for throwing down with him I think he hated ray even more.

I'm not sure there is a particular reason why Harry would dislike Kevin, although he and Chris were notorious boozers and drank their way through a small fortune. They were hardly role models. Perhaps Harry didn't like the verdict that cost Bunny Sterling the British middleweight title against the better-connected Kevin on a quiet dinner show with very few members of the press at ringside and off-TV. It was definitely an 'iffy' decision. Nevertheless, I would say that Harry was more pro-Minter than anti-Finnegan because Minter had it tough on the way up, losing several fights on cuts before he refined his aggressive style under trainer Bobby Neill and went all the way to the top.
As for the blonde wig incident, you couldn't make it up. Kevin jumped into the Wembley ring after Chris dropped a contentious decision in the ABA finals in 1967 and cavorted around in the wig, which probably belonged to Chris's blonde wife, Cheryl. He copped an 18-month ban from amateur boxing for his actions. Kevin, a theatrical fellow who loved painting, did something similar 20 years later when Tony Sibson stopped Brian Anderson at the Albert Hall in 1987 to win a Lonsdale Belt outright eight years after first winning the British title. A bizarre fellow jumped into the ring at the stoppage in the most outrageous costume, like something out of a Shakespeare play, and that bizarre fellow was Kevin Finnegan.

Hagler is the greatest respect for both Hearns and Duran, for moving up to challenge him by going right at it with him.

He was fantastic. He once did Bugner v Welch from Germany on Sky as part of a 3 site triple header along with Naz v Lawal and Tyson v Bruno ( 1st ever PPV....5 world championship fights on that card ) and he was by miles the best commentator on the night. Don’t think he was ever on Sky again.

GGG you beat either through being a super quick boxer who can counter and/or move, or by having the balls and agression and strength, to move him back. I think Froch would've been able to hold his shots, push him back, and in the end beaten him pretty handy

With Froch's goofy demeanor and punditry people forget that he beat a load of good fighters, far more than GGG did. I think he was all wrong for GGG and was disappointed he didn't take that one.

I don't feel too great about Froch going into a GGG fight totally relying on his chin. His chin was cracked a few times, although he always came through it but I really don't want a fighter as easy to hit as that going in against GGG, who also has shown a very good chin.

Yes, agreed. It’s heroic what Froch did. And, miraculous he beat as many world class opponents as he did given his style and temperament.

Just look at Pascal, the first test Froch faced. Still dangerous and beating top 10 light heavyweights.

Weirdly after Froch won the WBC title at 168 in a FOTY candidate Joe Calzaghe slated Pascal as “a joke.”

Ferdie Whatshisface doing U.S commentary for Benn V McClellan was annoying claiming McClellan had gone down twice without being hit when he’d clearly been caught both times he went down. Colin Hart always ruins my rewatching of Tyson v Douglas, can’t stand his voice and his endless going on about Ali. Anyone remember Gutteridge anytime a long right hand landed “ well it traveled a long way but he got the message” . I also have a memory of Watt being all pro Pyatt through the Collins fight then Collins finished it !

If a fighter threw a long right hand from way back Gutteridge would say 'he sent him a telegram first '
