You look back at anyone’s posts, you’ll find something.

I thought it was something Umar said recently. Bloody hell. Must have at leave been 10 years ago
Well he did break the law and threaten Patel at a press conference

and that was that business with Klitschko manager
From Kugans Facebook.

"I hate the world right now. Just to let you know, Bernd Bonte, the silver haired midget prick who is Wladimir Klitschko's manager has barred me from going to Joshua v Klitschko tomorrow night. 18 months ago he banned me from interviewing Klitschko as apparently i am too involved with Tyson Fury and Team Fury. So after an arguement a year ago, i decided to stay away from Team Klitschko for the whole of the build up to this Joshua fight. But still the little dwarf pudendum has done this. Been going to Matchroom shows for 7 years, IFL hasnt missed one in SEVEN years and its not them, its Klitschko's lot, but this is actually heart-breaking that I wont be there for the biggest fight in British boxing. My life is fornicating boxing. Right now i hate the sport. fornicate you bernd bonte you complete and utter pudendum."

The bigger story for me is the absolute nosedive in the quality of output from iFL over the past 12 months. Utter rubbish now.

Perhaps he made some ill-advised social media comments 4 years ago which left IFL incredibly shocked and reeling from such a tough week

That said I trained and worked with some excellent young sports journalists over the years and am very proud of them so there are some really good young and talented people in the profession as well. I just wish boxing promoters PR companies would vet people properly

I do feel lucky to have missed out on all that stitching yourself up forever on Social Media when you're 16 or whatever. I can vaguely recall some emo kids being on MySpace when I was at uni, and not really understanding it. I don't think I even ended up on Facebook until I was about 26. Never had twitter.

I only got an iPhone in the end because everybody was bang on Tinder when it first came out.

I wouldn't know who Umar IFL Umar was though if it wasn't for Tyan Boothe. I liked IFL when they started. Then it sort of went to their heads a little bit. Don't hate them or anything, like. Just don't watch much of their stuff anymore.

That tweet is disgraceful - it shows a complete misunderstanding of the difference between “ your” and “you’re”

And Fowler is no better with his “there” / “their” / “ they’re” confusion

Can't be easy as a legit journo who has invested in an education to see prats like Umar in the game. I suppose it's all about who you know in that game.

100% true, so many online 'joirnalist' care less about reporting facts and more about shouting their mouths off and being as controversial as possible.

Youtube has lowered standards across the board, though.

My kids used to watch cartoons, they were crap, but at least they had some sort of story element to them and often had underline messages about helping others or working as a team.

Now they watch videos of grown adults acting like kids. It makes my skin crawl.

In this age, every person on Twitter etc is 'Writer, journalist, author, historian, public speaker, commentator, husband, proud dad to the 2 best kids in the world, and always giving 110 percent'

etc

It has lowered the level of committment and quality required, but, there are a lot of very good writers and ppl with good /interesting stuff on boxing who would prob never gotten the same platform back when it was much much harder to get your stuff out. There are some aspects i like and some i don't like about it

I paid £50 for one a few years back just for a running app. Still don't have the balls for Tinder, but I think that's justified where I live!

I wasn't Jane Couch's biggest fan, but I never liked Kugan for the way he swooped in and grabbed all the work she'd put in. They could've split their coverage and let her carry on doing local stuff, where she was a regular face anyway.

Agree with you on Couch. I remember her early interviews with the Fury’s. Got a very young Shane on camera, Fury was interviewed riding around in a Pony and Trap. Jane was doing a decent enough job. She used to post on here, too.

Tinder is shite now but even at its peak it was only worth having if you lived in a city. Pointless in places where everybody knows each other, or knows someone that knows you.

IFL is the boxing equivalent of those football channels like Goldbridge, blobby Robby the Arsenal fan and the human baboon experiment that is Stephen Howson.

Your right it is not easy but I had my time and was lucky enough to work with some great people, so no regrets. When I started I traveled the gyms, attended regular shows all over the UK and Europe and spent as much time promoting small hall shows as I did the big tv cards. The same went for the journeymen and established pros. The other problem we have now, not only can anyone pick up a camera and attend press conferences, there are certain 'boxing writers' full of their own self importance and believe they are the name. Boxing is the greatest sport in the world bar none but unfortunately some promoters,tv companies and the world governing bodies have also steadily destroyed the sport by charging top dollar and delivering sub standard content. And don't even get me started about the youtubers embarrassing masquerading as boxers :brick: :brick: :brick: rant over.....for now :yay: :yay: :yay:
