Taylor was also huge at the weight, he must have killed himself to make 160.gilgamesh wrote: ↑04 Feb 2020, 14:39It's kinda interesting sometimes when guys have consistent stamina issues.
Jermain Taylor and Jean Pascal were two world class guys that basically never failed to show stamina problems in almost all of their fights.
With Taylor I think it could be explained because of the way he's constantly moving his arms back and forth, and shuffling his feet and stuff. Just a lot of wasted movement and energy.
Not sure why Pascal burns so much energy, he's clearly in great shape, but you can pretty well take it to the bank that he's not gonna be as effective in the last third of a fight as he was previously. The 7th round slow down I call it with Pascal, because it's as predictable as the tides.
Part of it is he has a naturally fat face. In the week before his last fight I saw him at a press conference and thought based on his face he must've been way way overweight, but then his body looked pretty much like normal
Natural welter? He really isn't any bigger than loma.jimcook wrote: ↑06 Feb 2020, 07:50 scumbag. just like broner in the way he sheds massive amounts of weight to beat much smaller guys. now that hes getting older he cant do it as easily. he is probably a natural light welter, maybe even welter. josh taylor would smash him to pieces.
as previous posters have stated, if he was that good he would fighting the top men, rather than 40 year olds. his output against gamboa was shocking...im convinced he cant safely make lightweight and have any energy left over to fight.if he fought lomachenko that night he wouldve got a severe pasting.
too much weight cheating going on in boxing these days. when fighters get to championship level they should have to declare at their natural weight and not be allowed to fight at more than a stone under it.
He may not be taller, but bigger through the torso. I agree with Jim, Davis walks around at welter for sure. He is a weight bully, and by the OP of this thread, a regular bully as well.Onetimeonly wrote: ↑06 Feb 2020, 13:55Natural welter? I won't defend that behavior, but he's a small kid that fought for his life everyday. He has every opportunity to change but it's easier said than done.
I've seen a lot of bigger Lightweights than Davis.
Exactly! Weight bullying pffft. If you make the weight you can fight at the weight what a load of nonsense!Onetimeonly wrote: ↑06 Feb 2020, 14:07I won't defend that behavior, but he's a small kid that fought for his life everyday. He has every opportunity to change but it's easier said than done.
As for weight bullying. Meh, that's the sport. He isn't a bigger lightweight than callum Smith is at 68.
