For a grueling beating, on his best day Ricky Hatton would have given you a good working over. Wouldn't have fancied Loma in front of me either, might reassess any world title aspirations I had after watching him fight!
Reading it the other way, the worst person to lose to would be Broner, hands down.

Must’ve been horrible losing to a mouthy egomaniac like Naseem Hamed. Or, someone with graceless post fight victory antics like Teofimo Lopez.

Losing to someone like Ali or Fury doesnt usually mean a life rethinking beating but to Micky Ward its probably pretty bad. So who do you guys think are the worst guys to lose to?
Any of these you tube idiots.

Didn't they apparently fall out playing football (soccer) as youngsters and it went from there or is that just crap? I know Morales disliked Barrera because of the class divide. Morales was from a poor background and Barrera came from a more affluent family and studied law etc... Whatever it was it made for some classic fights
The class divide was always the main thing I knew of that sparked the rivalry. I never heard of any Soccer stories from their youth, but it would be interesting if it were a life-long rivalry that started when they were kids like that.
I don't know what was the exact moment that started it but I do remember that Morales called Barrera a homosexual and Barrera responded with you're just a stupid or dirty Indian.

I was at a nothing show in a nothing town in the UK in 1994 when South Africa's Dingaan Thobela met a nothing opponent in Karl Taylor, a man with a record of 11-22-2 (4). Thobela had enjoyed spells as WBO and WBA lightweight champion and at 28 was hardly over the hill. Nevertheless, he allowed the squat, gutsy Taylor to outwork and outpoint him over eight rounds and left the arena alone later in the night, carrying his own spit bucket and shrugging at anyone who made eye contact. Taylor pulled it off and retired many moons later with a record of 16-142-7 (4).
Every dog...

I reckon getting stopped by KevinMcCauley (or even losing to him) would compel any fighter to immediately retire from sport.
• 15 wins (zero by way of KO)
• 202 losses
• 12 draws
Thinks there’s a lot worse than him, a lot of his wins and draws are against unbeaten or guys with winning records, the fact he’s only been stopped 14 or 15 times suggests he knows his way around
He loses to novices and probably does his upmost to avoid getting stopped during the four round contests he typically participates in. He rarely wins a single round.
For example: Michael Williams was undefeated and beat McCauley during his second contest (on points, by a 40-36 margin), but then lost his next seventeen bouts. Williams never won a single bout after beating McCauley.
Don’t get me wrong, the sport of boxing needs journeymen like McCauley and we should respect guys like him for helping educate prospects, but let’s not award him too much kudos for only winning 6% of his 229 bouts.
You ever read the book "Journeyman"? It's about guys with those kinda records. Pretty educational, but it also kinda disillusions you about the sport, and tells you that at least at the novice level. It's not even legitimate. At least in the U.K. it's not.
American Journeyman usually don't have the same absurd records that U.K. boxers have.

Andrew Hartley
Hartley's still looking for fights
He doesn't look well does he?
Hard to believe he's only 37 .
He's younger than me, but would pass for my dad, or much older brother at least.
RE: Thread topic. If you were half decent, and lost to Ricky Hatton, you've been pissing blood for weeks.
It didn't look too much fun for the opponent's of the Vitali K. A gradual, frustrating beating. Though of course, his opponents were predominantly not up to much.
Losing to some mouthy shyte like Broner wouldn't be fun.
Nor would it be great to lose to someone with a grin history like Adonis Stevenson, particularly when he's dancing over you when you're knocked out.
Shocking reading comprehension from a lot of posters here.

Yep. Hartley honestly comes across as a guy who surely would've been riding the short bus to school, and kinda fights like it too. No coordination whatsoever. He's kinda is like a real life version of that guy who thinks he's gonna fight Tommy Hearns someday on Million Dollar Baby.
