Re: Great fighters without a single Great Win

The question is, did Sonny get a great win? Is Patty a great win?
Vitali must have beaten more than 6 top 10 fighters. He probably beat lots of them. The problem is, none of them were any good. Chisora as a career best win is shocking. Chisora isn't even David Haye's best win.Cojimar 1946 wrote: ↑11 Apr 2020, 17:47 Vitali by my reckoning beat at least 6 guys who were top 10 at the time
That's a pathetic number by the standards of top welterweights, middleweights, etc but at heavyweight there are plenty of guys with pretty thin resumes.
Sonny Liston for example beat no more top 10 heavyweights than Vitali did.
That’s a really good call, best wins are guys like McCrory or Curry which I don’t rate as great wins, a ton of wins over good fighters but no great wins
Thought about it, but decided to avoid that argument.Counter-puncher wrote: ↑12 Apr 2020, 04:20That’s a really good call, best wins are guys like McCrory or Curry which I don’t rate as great wins, a ton of wins over good fighters but no great wins
Surprised you didn’t say Chavez (discounting the dodgy Taylor win) !!!
Casamayor and Johnston are close, but you'd have to include curry is you're using them.Counter-puncher wrote: ↑12 Apr 2020, 04:38 Also I would suggest maybe Castillo? I know you rate him really high and I don’t think he has a GREAT win
Yeah, was how I was looking at it.Onetimeonly wrote: ↑12 Apr 2020, 11:42Casamayor and Johnston are close, but you'd have to include curry is you're using them.Counter-puncher wrote: ↑12 Apr 2020, 04:38 Also I would suggest maybe Castillo? Terry norris
Casamayor, Corrales, Stevie Johnston and Floyd Mayweather Jr. (f*ck the judges, we know what we saw)Counter-puncher wrote: ↑12 Apr 2020, 04:38 Also I would suggest maybe Castillo? I know you rate him really high and I don’t think he has a GREAT win
