On a brighter note it is so nice here today. Nice breeze, 80 degrees and bright sun. I ran 2 miles, did a bunch of push ups and sit-ups, cleaned my pad and made some 3 cheese bacon burgers.
Best I've felt since this poo started.
I’m on the push ups and sit-ups too during this stupid lockdown. One of these days I’ll get past 40 sit-ups without my body just stopping at that number

My personal record single day record is 150. I've done that about 30 to 40 times in my life, I usually never keep it up though.
I'm gonna try to pusy myself to great heights in the next few months.
My single day pushups record is my best, I did 400 of those in a day a few times.

Damn, I started with 50 and I haven't worked out in years. However the first go I could only do 10 push ups and like 15 dips. Got the pu back to sets of 25. That hurt my feelings.

I suck at push ups but can do loads of sit ups even without having worked out in a long time. though in boxing i always had a glass body but a good chin. i dont think strong abs helped me there

Leg raisers are more important. I do a sit-up/oblique/leg raiser super set.
Many years ago I'd do sets of 50 push ups and 50 of each of them while I watched TV after lifting. Now I hurt myself sleeping.

I usually only do 20 pushups at a time, I just do several sets of 20. It adds up.
Doing as many as you can all at once usually limits how many you can do overall I notice as it wears you out more.
Probably has the same effect to lifting a lot of weight as opposed to several reps of lighter weight.

I'm lurker that enjoys this excellent forum very much. I don't post much at all, mainly because someone more knowledgeable than I usually covers what I want to say. However, I felt compelled to contribute to this thread because I think Saad is a great poster whom I usually agree with. He handled this bout of intellectual dwarfism very well, in my view,

Situps are about the most worthless thing you can do. Before my disease eliminated my ability to do em, I did 500 a night and stopped there out of boredom, and guess what, hardly made a difference. So much better just skipping situps altogether and do core exercises.

You're absolutely right. Same with weight lifting.
I do 4 sets of 25 and 4 sets of 50 with the sit ups.
Sometimes when I was a monster, key word was, I could do 5 sets of 100 push ups in short order. I got back with an ex that wasn't about bulk so I went from 235 to 185 and that's all I did. Used to do them with her daughter on my back and also have her jump up and down on my stomach. Ahhh, the good ole days.

I'll do leg raises off the bottom of the bench and then do crunches side to side. I've never had back problems because I always had a good core.
