I am okay with that; sure it still lacks depth, the level is far behind the men's boxing but they are growing a lot. Some of the most interesting matches recently were also kind of good.

That is a pretty funny topic post. Idk. Boxing is a "name game" at it's best. Cecilia is one of the more major names of women's boxing present age.
What I am interested about par the Women's league is concerning their ADMIN.
What is the deal on the Women's side of the Sport.
I understand the Mens side completely.

I sometimes wonder how often women fighters get the hots for each other in the stare down and after. Testosterone raging, good chance they’re both lesbians, going into a dramatic shared experience, themes of domination, seems like an atmosphere ripe for sexual fireworks

Must be quite confusing if you’re supposed to be going in to try and beat the fornicate out of someone but actually want to fornicate the fornicate out of them.

Women amateur boxing reached decent level despite majority of matches are still hard to watch. Women pro boxing is just trash, always was and probably always will be.

Except for one thing: Due to the low number of women boxers, at least compared to men boxers, you see a lot of women with records like 8-14 fighting for world titles. If there are say, only 15 registered Flyweight women in the planet, for example, a couple of those 10-12 or 4-20 or whatever record fighters are bound to eventually get a chance at a world title, not for the quality of their skills but for the absence of many other options as challengers.

The two minute round rule isn't the fault of the competitors. And this is the main culprit preventing stoppages.

I've enjoyed watching a few female bouts. Not all of them admittedly, but I can't say I've enjoyed watching all the male fights I have ever seen either.

If it's on the card I'm watching, I watch it. I don't actually go to the fights anymore, so I'm talking television. I won't go to the refrigerator because there's a female fight on. I'll sit and watch it, and run for the fridge between fights. My wife seems to enjoy watching the women. She'll go to the fridge when the men are fighting. Lol.

What's so funny? I happen to know several women that enjoy female boxing. As in, serious fans.

Most of my male friends aren't really into watching boxing at all, because it's a niche sport.

find there may be one, two and sometimes even THREE female fights on the undercard!!

Now, Im not a RALLY CRYER like todays hot headed misfit social media freaks who just YEARN for the next cause. I dont call for anything to be BANNED or STOPPED. But I DO say, if female fighting was so popular, why does it need to leech off the backs of proper boxing?? Why cant it stand on its own two feet and sell itself? Why? Because it CANT! Because at the end of the day, its just horrible to watch.

Proper boxing might go through peaks & troffs but men are the fittest and strongest and I pay my PPV to see the best of humanity compete and knock seven shades out of one another. Not mothers !

Lol, Savannah Marshall fights are nailed on not to go the distance, some women have better knockout records than the men and have only two min to do it in, since women started turn pro from the amateurs in greater numbers the skill level increased tremendously, even Sugar Ray Leonard started praising women boxing skills along with many others top pro fighters, one thing about women they have an eagerness to get in there and fight, unlike many male fighters who bitch about the money, yet are paid ten times the amount of women fighters, granted the pool within women boxing is not that great yet, but more and more women are getting into the sport that can only be a good thing.

I saw that Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano apparently had a great fight, and really beat the shit out of each other this weekend....and nobody went down, and nobody really seriously got hurt at any point.

So my opinion of Women's Boxing is still the same. They fight with courage. They fight with spirit. They can't crack an egg, they're not particularly entertaining. And if a Girl is exceptionally skilled, she basically has like.....1 or 2 challengers at best.

after a rare women's ktfo same guy bumped another thread where i said that women cant punch and hardly any kos happen............the idea of 'large majority of the time' seems to be lost on some people lol

Point taken, but Taylor was seriously hurt and in danger of being stopped. And Serrano does have serious power evidenced by her number of stoppages in her career.

Rhonda Rousey versus Ebanie Bridges would be great- not in a fight but in a bikini contest .

Yeah, it seemed weird to me that Ring Magazine with their boxing experts decided to put Ronda Rousey on the cover with the words "She conquered MMA. Is boxing next?"

Boxing is often seen as a man's sport for its aggressive and combative nature. However, a large number of women are seen entering the ring

The history of women in boxing is one of perseverance, resilience and determination of young women fighting for their rights to compete

Women's boxing has been off and on for at least a thousand years or better. It's resurgence in around WW2 and revival in the 1970s was seen largely as a novelty act and never quite got traction. Women like Barbara Buttrick and Cathy Davis were definitely modern pioneers, but it wasn't until the 1990's did you start to see women's boxing matches featured on big time cards. It was still seen as a novelty, with most of the competitors being models who slapped more than anything else. Mia St John and Christy Martin stood head and shoulders above the rest in those times, and after a while Laila Ali and Anne Wolfe came into the picture and elevated the women's division into something a bit more serious. Unfortunately that fight never took place.

It's certainly grown in leaps and bounds since I was a kid with the vast majority of women competitors being genuine athletes who have real skills and abilities. The two-minute round bouts, though, I think make women's boxing seem less like men's boxing and in reality the shorter the rounds or matches, the faster and harder the competitors have to go to make a real impact every round--- so most women's boxing matches are pretty fast paced or end up as brawls. That being said, it's taken boxing a lot longer to come around and see women boxers as bankable stars unlike MMA that has had women headline major PPV's for quite a long while.

It's pretty sad in a lot of ways that women boxers basically have to either fight in their home states, abroad in basically third world nations, or have to compete in MMA as well in order to remotely get any publicity or any kind of money.

All the while, certain top men insult each other in illiterate language and age each other out of potential superfights.
