I'd favour Vit but at 40 anything can happen. Chins don't last long, especially in the heavyweights, and Haye was very quick and considerably younger, and Vit a come-forward type. One punch and the effects on Chisora were catastrophic.

Vit didn't seem so confident after seeing Chisora nuked. After wanting Haye so badly... he retired rather than fight him!

Vitali didn't seem to retire because of Haye. He retired after he had been injured in the process of preparation for Stiverne. At about that period of time Haye himself had multiple cancellations of his fights because of injuries, which ultimately lead to him retiring too.

Vitali would have ruined Haye. Not a chance Haye could have won that.
Emphatically. I think Vitali has him here. Just a heavier than expected dig to David's arm that clearly unsettles Haye up. I bet Vitali was pretty damn intimidating close up.

I think Vitali would have made easy work of Haye - going backwards or forwards - before the injuries did for him. Concrete chin, strong, consistent power, height, reach and high workrate. I don't see how Haye could possibly have dealt with that.

We're talking about a man whose biggest wins are over Shannon Briggs (40) and Corrie Sanders (39)

It seems popular on this forum to call Sanders the biggest win of Vitali. Actually, I was also thinking this way for some time. But probably Sam Peter is his real biggest win. He was more complete as a boxer and had a better resume, than Sanders, apart of Wlad win. In any case Peter did to Wlad the same, that Sanders had done, he caught him, but it already was an improving Wlad.

Sam Peter was a fat, crude slugger with literally no skill. Did he even have a jab? You're insane.

So, since you're so sane, maybe you tell, how Sanders and Briggs were better than Peter?

You seriously don't understand how Corrie Sanders is better than Sam Peter?

The best I can do is direct you to youtube, and recommend you type in "Corrie Sanders" and watch the footage; then, type in "Samuel Peter" and do the same.

The presenters both look taller. There has to be some sort of hidden stage or step. Or it’s forced perspective.

I don’t think haye looked scared there more a bit clueless about what they were saying in German before it was translated and the punch looked out of context. There’s a fair bit of body language going off between the pair of them throughout that clip.

In your mind perhaps.

The idea that Vitali was scared of Haye is laughable.

Vitali retired because he was riddled with injuries and 40 years old, not because he was frightened of Haye.

Why were you disappointed mate? Only if it’s not indiscreet to ask.
I still had a lot of enthusiasm for his career then and I thought he would be more interested to talk about his previous achievements in a positive way. He was just really curt and abrupt. I'm not saying he should have liked me just because I was a fan, far from it, but I just got the impression he wasn't that nice a bloke. Obviously could be way off the mark here and just caught him on a bad day. Or maybe I just annoyed him for some reason. Probably a bit of both!
he'd have been a lot more open with Danny Flexen mate

Undoubtedly! The irony is the website I did the interview for is the on Flexen is working at now!

I was acting a reporter for an American website, and I saw Haye at a show with Adam booth, I asked him for his email, so I could drop him a line and set up an interview for the site.

He smirked at Adam Booth and then gave me a fake email, - I know because I later got his real email from an associate.

What kind of jerkoff does that? At the end of the day the interview would have been to his benefit. He must have thought he was so special that I didn't deserve the honour of interviewing him.

I subsequently heard stories about him that painted him in an extremely unfavourable light.
