Lil Uzi Vert for Davis' walkout, what a treat

20 - 18 LSC vs Davis after the 2nd, but Gervonta is connecting crazy uppercuts (yes, that was a slip)

Wow. What a punch.

I had Cruz winning save for Davis' uppercuts. It was the only punch he looked open to, and quite obviously so.

Really classy boxing from Cruz otherwise, but a corker of a finish with a lovely lateral setup.

Davis was missing a lot in the first 3 rounds with the counters and pot shoting. The shoulder roll was a little off too. He switched up the attack and started countering hard to the body which definitely had an effect on Leo. Davis fought like he knows he's a puncher and went looking for Santa Cruz and although it looked like he telegraphed the shot at the end, LSC didn't see the punch coming. It was a bolo style punch and it was quite nice how Davis maneuvered himself into position to land it that accurately. You knew immediately that the fight was over.

What a finish!! Davis is a beast.

Great Great fight between 2 top fighters , very clinical finish ,,, But the one i can't wait to see is Davis -- Lomez , will be very interesting , with the size and age ,

Glad they put on a good show, but basically LSC got KO’d by a lightweight.

Not as impressed by the matchup itself as some.

Boxing is weird, it constantly supports bigger guys battering smaller guys. The irony is LSC was that guy once, as a massive bantam beating overmatched smaller guys. Then one day he thinks he can challenge the bigger men...

This has always been the case. Guys getting down to their lowest possible weight to try and effectively carry the most amount of advantage in a fight against naturally smaller opposition.
This is generally the case when they are facing the journeyman types who effectively fight at a management and more "normal" weight.

But the elites always boil down as low as they can, so when they fight one another it effectively cancels each other out.

I've never really understood why they do this. Why not just campaign at your normal weight and test yourself against your peers?

Same day weigh ins or compulsory rehydration limits would solve it.

Santa Cruz was prepared to go to war but like Davis said he just didn't put enough thought into his defence when up against the ropes and tried to fight out of it when tired. Could maybe have milked more seconds of rest from the low blow. Good fight and great finish.

Great finish. Davis is a serious night's work for anyone around his weight, gotta love a puncher.

Holy sh1tballs what a stunning KO, Santa Cruz nearly decapitated, I thought he boxed excellent, when he put his shots together in bunches he had a lot of success and had no issues finding Davis, it was when he slowed down throwing single shots or waiting too long that Davis was able to counter or have the time to pick his own punches

You could tell Davis's punches carried more weight but Santa Cruz was landing clean enough to trouble him, it was absorbing stuff when out of nowhere Davis unleashed that left uppercut from hell, near sent Santa Cruz's head flying into row Z, gutted actually because though I strongly fancied Davis here I was starting to believe Santa Cruz could pull it off, great fight though

What’s striking me is that the totally inappropriate fighters are getting the wrong fights, high up in weight. Garcia vSpence the absolute worst case.

Similar to the Povetkin Whyte one, uppercut ko's are devastating. Nobody is beating Davis at 130lb.

Would be a great fight between Davis and Loma if Loma heads back down.

He really can’t use that same game plan against the top dogs at LW

Maybe he was. But he had faith in himself and it was impressive, you’ve got to admit.

I think Tank vs Loma is one for the nerds and Tank Lopez would be a proper war

I think Garcia was somewhat of an anomoly. He had already campaigned at the lower weights and decided to jump a few divisions for the Spence fight. Maybe it was more a money grab and long shot of he had nothing to lose but cause a huge upset if he won.

Same with Brook going up against Golovkin, he jumped up a few divisions for that fight.

Just watched this, a great fight between two great champions going for it.
A fantastic finish from Davis but fair play to Santa Cruz who was really taking it to Davis and giving him all sorts of problems.
Decent undercard fight between Barrios and Karl too.
