tHROWING WITH AN OPEN HAND , NOT UNUSUAL , IN FACT its part of the learning process , can be done to enhance speed , to cover the eyes , prior to a power shot , i was taught that very early , , also its taught to purposly scuff with the lace and bandage , soften up the eyes ,and face , hoping for a cut . Its part of a boxers repotoure ( kit , not good at spelling , ).

Its just that Tyson has trained with many many a good coach and picked these skills up along the way and uses them , Its all part of the arsnel a good boxer will have , just the same has learning to sneakilly follow through with the elbow , twisting the arms in a clinch , , all fair and part of the game . , And if you don't know the tricks ,, GET ANOTHER TRAINER

Do we think that Tyson was able to move his hand, to have a clenched fist for punching, and an open glove for cheating ? and to vary this when it suited him in the fight ? honest question, i am trying to fathom how it would be an advantage. presumably a glove loose enough for that would come off at some point ?

I'd say it was more to do with Fury's punch technique, someone mentioned above Calzaghe was the same, Burns as well, there was a fight that took place around the same time as Fury/Wilder 2 which had similar looking pictures, cant remember which one though, cant see how moving his hand down the glove would prove advantageous

Fury is a cheat though let's be clear on that, maybe not on glovegate but he's a proven PED cheat

This is the wierd thing, if he has managed to slip his fist into the palm part if the glove (which i think he may have from the pics), I'm not sure why he would. If you watch the finish of the fight he's landing shots with that part of the glove- perhaps the lack of padding where the lace is was causing greater superficial damage (Wilder had an odd bleed from the ear), but it also seems a way of damaging your hand. Strange one, certainly looks a bit fishy.

Gloves tied on its not going anywhere . Also its the style of gloves , , some gloves have alll the padding in the fist area , others more so in the wrist , Its why , when i've had guest fighters around for sparring , i always check there gloves if they bring there own ,,, Had one guy coming around not long ago , checked his gloves and there was virtually no padding in the knuckle , told him your not sparring in them , and make NO bones about it Wilders camp would of wanted them gloves , they would suit the puncher ,,, He just was'nt good enough on the night ,,, but less padding in the knuckles suited Tyson for flicking the open hand , turning and scraping the palm

Haha that was literally the first thing that came to my mind when I heard this newest accusation of an "egg weight"

It's all ludicrous. I'll explain in detail to Ricky in the next post. I was actually shocked to see that this was all being reposted yesterday.

As I haven't frequented the forum in about 6 months, when all these accusations were debunked the first time around.

How do you explain that photo? You can see his fingers. explain it.
Hey Ricky, I'd be happy to give a go at explaining the conspiracies coming out of Black Egypt YouTube or whatever his name is.

Regarding that photo.

Let's start with the framing of the image. It has been cropped so it looks like it is a straight punch being thrown. It is not. The left wrist is actually bending back. The protrusion that some claim is the thumb, is the joint where the thumb meets your wrist. Pull you left wrist back and you will see it lines up.

As for seeing the fingers in the opening of palm of the glove that is quite easily debunked too.

First imagine you have just wrapped your hands. Now think about how high up your fingers the wrapping goes...the point is, you don't wrap your fingers...
Therefore it can't be the fingers you are seeing because you can see white wraps at the top and bottom of the opening.

Now let's assume we all agree you don't wrap your fingers. Now consider the padding and tape that is placed upon the knuckles of a professional fighter. Now try and contort your hand whilst visualising all this to get the white wrapping to show at the top of the opening. You can't physically do it, let alone if you actually tried to do it inside a glove with the pro padding on your knuckles.

Finally after wrapping your hands, look at your palms, you will see that you have not covered the whole area of the palm. The white wrap you are seeing in the photo lines up with this, the wrapping at your wrist at the bottom, and across the upper inner part of your hand (reverse of your knuckles) which you squeeze when you make a fist.

I'd be quite happy to try to explain any other images you want to refer to.

Sure, guys like Steve 'flat earth, inferior white man, black hebrew israelite, humans are trees' cunningham have a monopoly on all the logic I guess :OhYes:

Funny, wasnt one of the points he made in his video that with a glove on like that you can't make a fist? but there fury is above making fists!
The problem is all of these accusations are not coming from any respected Boxing insiders or even Boxing YouTubers.

This all started after the second fight. It was being pushed by racial grifters with zero affiliation to boxing youtube. The main culprit who started all this nonsense clearly had no interest in Wilder, at least not until he took up the mantle of some black king and started trying to make the second fight one about race. Which kind of explains why non of this nonsense started until after he lost the rematch.

Most black American boxing YouTubers made videos debunking this nonsense and were clearly embarressed to have to even discuss it. No serious boxing channels are still running with this except the ones that have always promoted an us versus them racial agenda.

Maybe so, but it's still illegal and it looks very much from the photographs like his fist is about 4 inches lower than where it actually should be. The trouble I'm having with this one is that nobody has actually offered an explanation for it?

If his Knuckles were 4 inches further down than they should be, then wouldn’t there be a bigger gap around the opening of the glove around his arm? It looks to me like that’s tight, therefore, they are where they were wrapped, otherwise, Wouldn’t it be obvious that the opening of the glove is around the smaller part of the wrist, and not the forearm?

Fury has a soft wrist when he does his pitter patter slapping. It’s unorthodox, but any of us can get our writs bent like that.

The controversy of Fury's gloves are not a conspiracy theory, because, well, you are looking at the photographs of them. It could well be that his knuckles are in the gloves as they should be, but with his gloves flopping all over the place and his wrists bent at near 90 degree angles... questioning if his hands are inside those gloves as they should be hardly equates to "the pyramids were built by aliens".

there is no controversy. it's literally just fucktards. not a SINGLE person in the boxing community takes it seriously. If you think photos and images aren't manipulated in 2020 there is no helping you.

The REAL issue is that Wilder has no boxing skill at all and got exposed by someone with talent. end of. accept it and move on.

I'm not even entertaining it, this is a website for serious boxing fans, not TMZ. take this shit to youtube where a million casual fans with their own agenda (be it patriotism or race hating) will feed you the confirmation bias you are so desperately craving.

Fury pitty pats..... hence wilder saying he has pillow fists repeatedly...... until the narrative no longer suits and then he has a horseshoe in his glove or other such utter drivel.

The other thing is, if Fury somehow had managed to get special gloves made, (which somehow the commission allowed him to use) where his fist was where the wrist was meant to be, it would make it incredibly difficult to punch with, and you'd risk breaking your wrist with a huge pillow above the top of the knuckles flapping about - it wouldn't make any sense whatsoever.

I absolutely agree. There's a video on youtube of a few pro's in a boxing gym trying it. It's certainly possible to do, and the glove does flap... but they all laughed at the idea and stated they had no power and would hurt themselves. Slaps are also illegal so the ref is likely to do something even if he doesn't notice the glove isn't on right.

Teddy Atlas thinks maybe he was gaining a few inches on the left hand only to f*ck with Wilders range, to make him think he's closer than he is, setting up the right (which is on right).

Either way, i think there's something to it, the video footage of that glove flapping in the wind needs explained.

i have. loads of times. lots of fighters slap with an empty hand on post with their lead palm to set up a powerful cross.

and respectfully you do have an agenda as you consistently championed wilder prior to the fight. not a SINGLE other poster lends any credibility to this nonsense.

I suppose it's possible, but I find it unlikely. The glove does look quite loose, If anything, could they have left the glove a bit looser.

The thing is, the gloves are supplied by the commission are they not, and they are taped and then signed off before the fight - you can usually see writing on the taped area, indicating that they are approved.

I used to know all this stuff like the back of my hand, but I'm a wee bit rusty these days.
