Lomachenko isn't doing anything that fighters haven't done for years

the same techniques- sidesteps and pivots- that have been used for decades. nothing new there.

Great videos but it doesn't change my statement. I never said other fighters didn't have brilliant footwork and techniques. I said Lomachenko's is the best I've seen.
I stand by that statement. I never called it "Matrix style", it's just the best I've seen.
you did say it was unique to him. there is no single technique he uses that other boxers have not used before, and plenty.
It was Enlightened-One who used the terms "matrix" and "unique" in relation to Lomachenko. He is a prat.
Lomachenko's footwork isn't some modern thing that is going to become common among fighters in general. It was a particular skill that he had spent a lifetime developing. Doing ballet and all that stuff as a kid. His footwork was a skill that was unique to him, not something that I can imagine becoming common place in the sport overall.
That being said I would agree that his is probably the best footwork I've ever seen from any fighter.
i believe the 'matrix' reference is a reference to the film, Lomachenko's footwork is so good he must be in the Matrix
His feet are a bit too busy, though that can be attributed to him being past prime. Then again, Floyd's was better older and against better opposition.

His particular style of footwork is the best version of it I've seen. I stand by my statement.

I watched Wilder and Fury 2 again. I pictured it in black and white, blurry, with some jerkiness. Low hands, inside action, clinches, hitting behind the head. It looked like about 1900 in my head. It's coming on again in a few minutes, in my area. I set my TV for black and white this time.

I've watched fights with the sound off before so we all do some experiments I suppose.

I turned off the sound, too, as well as the color, and messed up the picture controls some. It was like I was watching an old film from the 19th century I tell ya.
I’d expect or guess the quality of trainers has diminished since the 70s, 80s and 90s. It’s not like those lessons were recorded. Over time that knowledge would have dissipated...which is unfortunate. Surely that’s had an impact on the sport...for the worse.
I assess that all sports that aren't e-sports will regress over the next 20 to 30 years. Sport as we know it was a 20th Century thing. Teenagers now have better things to do than punch each other or chase balls on grass while some old guy yells at you to try harder.

Peaking, yes. This will be the last great generation for physical sports.
Black Lives Matter and similar movements are a (positive) symptom of technical progress. The eggs thrown against the wall will reduce in number as these guys choose an education over being hard, physical workers or quick money rappers, dealers or sportsmen (not just in the 'first world' either. West Africans are getting increasingly educated and looking to develop their economy). Whites have been decreasingly represented in sport for years already.

This saddens me.
My life has been infinitely better because of Life lessons learned from sport.
