A boxer with a reach advantage who doesn't jab shouldn't be a boxer.

It's that important a weapon.

Larry Holmes virtually built a career behind his jab.

Joe Joyce is an excellent example of a fighter effectively boxing behind a jab.

George Foreman could, and sometimes did, stop opponents with his jab.

Tommy Hearns had an excellent jab.
He could have been evenore successful if he chose to stay behind it, but then his fights would have been less explosive.

Rocky Marciano, for obvious reasons didn't use his jab as a main weapon. The fact that he was often getting outboxed underlines this potential weakness.

Luckily for him, no one was able to take full advantage.

assumed all time great who doesn't jab and doesn't punch to head or body anymore, thinking he'll tear everybody's bicep apart with loaded up power shots targeting the arms.

eddie hearn is not sure if punches to the side of the arms should be scored as landed.

canelo & fat eddie say one bicep punch should be scored as 3 to 4 landed punches but at least double, judges follow suit. canelo still loses to bivol.

You talk about as much shite as Eddie. The difference is, Eddie gets paid to do it.

Roy Jones Jr. Seemed to use his hook, uppercut rather than his jab although he had a decent one when he did use it.

I'd have to go back and watch a bit, but I don't remember Joe Frazier jabbing much.

:TU:
Especially early on, when he had the speed not to need a jab to get in range. He just slipped in to range, fired off a combo and slipped out again. I think he had a nice jab, as a part of a comprehensive arsenal.

Rarely used it but best example was probably for a few rounds against Vinny Paz.

Ok I’ve rewatched it. I counted every punch. I had to watch it in slow motion. This took me hours as I wanted to make sure I was right and watched it a number of times to be sure. So now what, I have counted the punches and seen the official punch stats but what was the point? You’re still a massive shite talker. I don’t see how me spending hours counting punches changes that. Thanks for nothing.

you're welcome.

how often did you watch the whole fight in slow motion?

quite an effort you put in...

so what's with the punch stats you so meticulously collected (not counting saul's brutalizing but not 'landed' whacks to bivol's arms)? top secret?

or do you mean by 'i counted the punches and seen the official punch stats' that your numbers were concurrent with the official punch stats?

a jab doesnt have to land tho, its a feeler shot, a distance finder , a set up for the right hand, its everything doesnt need to be a scoring shot

I just don’t know what you’re on about really. When did I say Saul won or that his punches to the arm should be counted. I agreed that Eddie Hearn is a shite talker. If you review your posts to this forum, in fact in the very thread, you’ll see that you are also a shite talker. That’s all I meant.

vice versa.

I didn't say you said saul won.

I didn't say that you said saul's punches to the arms should count.

all I asked is from you to generously share your in multiple slow mo rewatches collected punch data. period.

as I didn't put that effort in but I'm still sure that even if official punch stats were heavily in bivol's favour, they were still tweaked towards canelo either intentionally or by incompetence (by counting Canelo's whacks to bivol's upper arms).

I talk shit quite a bit okay. agreed. surely not about you, you'd definitely would 'know what I'm on about'if I did.

all good. i never said anything negative about you, I got zero problem with you, zippety zip.

Agree - I don't have a problem with you either. Did we just become best friends?
FYI I didn't actually watch it in slow mo.
