There's been a few genuine boxers from the music racket, primarily from the olden days. Motown legend Berry
Gordy Jnr had several pro outings, Billy Joel reeled off summat like 30 W's in the Golden Gloves before a few
punishing defeats had him looking for his piano.
Late 80's R & B sensation Terence Derby won a regional? Golden Gloves which ain't too shabby. An ex
was mad about this guy and she mentioned it. She loved her boxing as well.
chris isaak i believe was quite handy. marvin gaye and james brown too. 50 cent was meant to have boxed at a high level, but i saw him hitting the bag once and he didn't look great.
Didn't know that about Isaak. A lot of black musicians from the Great Depression took to boxing for much
needed funds, whilst those who ended up doing time learnt the game to kill the boredom. Brown and Jackie
Wilson were two of them.

The rock star from the late60's early 70's with the rep' as a street scrapper not to take liberties with was Daltrey. Even The bully that was Led Zep's controller/manager gave him a wide berth.
