To stay dead at the weight for over 24hrs and not be noticeable to physicians overseeing the weigh ins wouldn’t be possible IMO.
Yes, you made a good point in weight maybe not being achieved at the 2nd weigh in but if only a few lbs or less then normal sanctions would apply like deductions in purse, titles not on the line for you, ect.
It’s not a perfect science my idea and no idea is invulnerable to stopping fighters losing a lot of weight then regaining it over night.
I just hate seeing middleweights 175lbs plus.
I think it’s dangerous and it does create significant differences in fight outcomes.
If you weigh 175lbs on fight night, fight at God damn light heavy.

its very interesting, cuz i totally see why it has an unfair vibe to it. we have weight divisions and rate guys p4p to eliminate the size factor. we value often those abilities that take so much application and practice to craft properly. and no one says that manuel charr is better than tank davis or inoue etc, even though he would beat their asses simply cuz he's bigger
on the other hand, is having the right genetics to be able to drain a ton of weight, any more unfair than having the genetics that make you a way bigger puncher than the other guys? that is a bit unfair too isnt it, wasnt something your or the others had a choice over. and getting weight right can take lots of dedication too
now, let's say your an a-side fighter, and you blow the weight, but then payoff the other guy either to take the fight anyway or for the limit to be upped, that's not any genetic gift or dedication
my guess is that a genetic predisposition (or not) for cutting weight, is secondary to the scientific knowledge/ whatever cheats they use. IE having the right team in place (with all that entails) a bigger factor than genetics, though i stand to be corrected on that
ya could be right about that......and obviously the higher end guys can have whole teams who work on this stuff for them

When weight cutting goes wrong:
The crazy thing about that was that the doctor thought it was sensible to let him have a second go at the weigh-in! Who was the doctor - Jozef Mengele?!

Eubank always looked huge ar middleweight. He used to take breaks in fights to conserve his energy. He eventually went up to cruiserweight. I reckon Chris could be considered

you really are a funny man. hilarious.
Would you have preferred it if I'd replaced Mengele with Harold Shipman? I think most people get the joke.
