What a sad and sorry sight that was woth Holyfield. It's a travesty that got licenced. Holyfield is a 13 months short of 60 and looked it.

Woke up to this. No surprise after seeing Holy on the pads but I thought Belfort would have the decency to carry him.
IMO this went well for Holy - who didn’t seem to know where he was. he wouldn’t have sparred for this - took two glancing punches and picked up his mill or whatever. An absolute sh1tshow though.

They couldn't get it sanctioned in California so they found somewhere else. They didn't even have to leave the USA. Nice to have all of south America and the Caribbean to fall back on too.
The only way to stop this crap is for people not to buy into it. A lot of folks will feel burned by buying this fight.

Holyfield is the greatest Cruiserweight of all time, top 10 Heavyweight, can't knock his achievements but he's a PED cheat, what's with the sympathy?? People were stoked to see Tyson vs Jones Jr but people are genuinely up in arms that Holyfield is allowed to fight
A 58 year old being sanctioned to fight is an abomination I get that and these Triller cards and bordering on dangerous but Evander Holyfield is a grown man who's spunked away hundreds of millions, I didn't see him showing much sympathy when he was roided to the gills in his prime going in against clean athletes, its hardly an addiction like drink or drugs, he deserved anything that comes his way, he should be thankful that he got millions to be clowned like that
Would've like to have ref to have allowed it go on longer, it was premature

I always said Evander was overrated and this PROVES it. He got pummeled by someone who isn't even a boxer. Evander is LUCKY that he was active during a relatively WEAK era of the sport.

It was Mike Tyson's crafty plan to avenge the losses to Holyfield! Tyson started all that stuff with Thriller, made the talk about the 3rd Holyfield bout, made Holyfield to want it, but eventually picked an easier opponent, leaving Holyfield hungry for an easy payday. Then they made the De La Hoya vs Belfort bout to drag attention away from Tyson, but it was just a tricky move, as De Le Hoya pulled out by their plan, while Holyfield was around Thriller. So, Holyfield received a short-notice offer against a much fresher opponent. Evander was forced to think fast, whether to risk for the harder payday or not and he had no other choice! It was a conspiracy of Tyson against Holyfield!

I disagree, that was exactly what we needed to happen. Hopefully it makes every other geriatric retiree think twice before stepping back into a boxing ring. Too dangerous to be playing around, and endangers the sport overall if a tragedy happens.
