Ken Buchanan highlights:

Scotland Lightweight Champion
British Empire Lightweight Champion
European Lightweight Champion
World Lightweight Champion (1970-72)
Won his first 33 fights
Was 43-1 before facing the great Roberto Duran of Panama
After lusing to Duran, he won 10 consecutive fights
Only had 3 losses before turning 30
Stopped once in 69 bouts, which means he had a tremendous chin. The KO loss by Duran was not a real knockout.
AP Fighter of the Year in 1970.

Defining fight: W15 Ismael Laguna.....September 26, 1970......"Won Lightweight crown in a scorching heat against fellow hall of famer"

Other defining bouts: WTKO8 Carlos "Morocho" Hernandez, W15 Ismael Laguna (II), LTKO13 Roberto Duran, WTKO6 Carlos Ortiz, W15 Jim Watt, andL15 Ishimatsu Suzuki

By 1970-71, Ken Buchanan was not only the best fighter in Great Britain, but the best fighter of the whole Europe!

Yes, at the time, he was pound per pound better than Nino Benvenutti, Howard Winstone, Johnny Famechon, Alan Rudkin, Walter McGowan, Bruno Arcari, Carmelo Bossi, and Joe Bugner.
