I rate gareth. he's one of the few journalists who actually cares about and pushes combat sports with a passion (plus is quite knowledgeable). he asks more interesting questions than the usual run of the mill shtick too, guys like fury tend to open up to him. but predictably, arsehole fight fans (the ones who moan that boxing doesnt get enough mainstream coverage...) slate him basically cos he looks a bit different.

For me, as a journalist, he is complete head and shoulders above Bunce. No comparison. some of bunces articles are just woeful.

i wouldn't know his journalism (or Bunce's) so I'm only aware of his contributions to Bellator and the various boxing bits I've seen him in, where his shreaking fanboyism and fluffing of the promoter's fighters (the last one which I remember most clearly was over Garcia in the Campbell; fight) are as nauseating as I have ever seen on screen. honestly you've never just taken against someone for how they look? it's a human instinct, i think I even read once that it's hard-wired into us, on like a genetic/evolutionary level, one of those evolutionary things that had a different basis when we were cavemen but now hate people like potential enemies because of their choice of neckwear.
