As poor as he is, Helenius should have beaten Whyte it was an odd performance. He had Whyte a punch away from a 10 count but he left him off the hook

He hurt his right hand is the word after that fight. Not broken if I recall, but hurt it bad enough to sap any ambition he started out with.

I remember that. I was picking him to win. Probably he indeed had problems. He had a good start, but went lethargic.

No one in the right mind can complain if Tyson fights Ruiz/Helenius in March then Usyk/Joshua in the summer.
The second part of that equation is a must otherwise the March fight is an absolute joke.

This is where Tyson gets beat, it's only really himself that beats him for the next couple of years.
Another reason why he puts bums on seats because he is unpredictable and we can't be sure which Fury turns up.

None of the three of them pose any realistic threat

Whyte and Ruiz are decent match ups, both legit top 10 guys. Both are similar fights on paper, with Ruiz probably being the most dangerous, with the good recovery when hurt and the fast hands. Whyte has been dropped multiple times and absolutely flatlined twice. We've never really seen Ruiz in anything like the same trouble.

Helenius is rubbish. There's always the chance that Fury doesn't train and gets himself involved in an unnecessary dog fight, but he could do that with any of them.

Anyway, weren't we all chatting about Arum saying it was between Whyte and Joyce a couple of weeks ago? Until something is signed it's pointless speculating. If Fury's in the right frame of mind, he'll spontaneously choose someone actually good and surprise everyone, or he'll fight an unknown bum. It's pointless trying to second guess him.

If Fury boxed and moved against Ruiz then it would be a masterclass/schooling. AJ did it and people some people said he was running scared.

I do think that’s a fair assessment though - Fury has form for sometimes putting on very defensive displays, so no-one would particularly judge him for doing it again. But Joshua had never shown that sort of performance before, he did look gunshy against Ruiz 2 imo, and that carried over to the Pulev / Usyk fights as well.

Yeah - he thought he was a master boxer unfortunately and was never really in the fight.

I think the man has something to offer & want to find out while he has his shlt together - & before he gets too old.

On his day he does appear to be the best offensive fighter at heavyweight- and Fury’s fights usually feature some kind of drama against him.

Hoping that Helenius gets the job, over Ruiz. And that we see a good fight.

Definitely would prefer Dillian to get the shot, however, and hope you’re right regarding negotiations.
