I forgot how old/young Ricky Hatton actually is - 43 is no age really - however Hatton looks terrible for a 43 yr old.
Considering he always seems to be in the gym or jogging about filming himself; he really must be smashing the pints & pasties into himself at every opportunity.
He seems to have a good thing going on doing his 'Meet Ricky Hatton' type shows around the pubs and clubs, which probably cover his current lifestyle which only appears extravagant as a few holidays to the cheapy Tenerife places.
I can only imagine he is doing this as just something to motivate himself for, with the added advantage of a couple of quid and to keep himself relevant. Best of luck to him .. I guess it's an evening out for the same type people who pay £20 to see him do his poor imitation of Bernard Manning.

I can’t help but feel that whilst this is supposed to be a light-hearted move around the ring, for charity and the fans….
… that if he ends up looking poor, it might unearth some old demons that he’s done a good job of burying for the past decade.
As an aside point, if this show is aimed at the older OG Hatton fans, are they a bit too old and cynical nowadays to buy this bout ?
I feel that if he’d not done the Senchenko fight, that this news would be electric. But I can’t forget how heartbreaking it was when he broke down on the ring apron afterwards.
I felt terrible for him and hence why I find this announcement a bit worrying too. I’d feel happier about it if had kept himself in good condition since retirement but he hasn’t.

Regardless of why ,, what i think you can gaurantee is that at the end of it there will be money involved and both these guys will be getting plenty,,, Alls that says to me is what a sorry state boxing is in , when its the has been , well past there best , can get in on the act and make money

Why does everyone get bent out of shape when ex fighters have exhibitions? Former champs have been having exhibition fights since the sport began so why all the fuss about it now just because they promote them more and make a few quid out of it ?

I think part of the problem is that historically, they have been seen for what they were - gentle paced exhibitions that celebrated the achievements of the fighters.
Now they are hyped beyond belief and built to the extent where they can almost be seen as big fight events….. ‘The Hitman Rises’ for example, or the Jones Tyson fight.

Can’t see the issue really, a bit of over the top promotion but the end result is still the same, it’s just a move around.

Ricky whilst calling it an exhibition is saying its about "inspiring people" - come on, someone has offered him a lot of money to play fight with a good mate. Big gloves, less rounds and as Ricky says "an understanding between Marco and myself"
The Nigel Benn thing was supposed to be a "proper" bout.

He had an evening local to me a few months back in some run down piss-heads club up Fleur .. can't imagine tickets being anywhere near £70 for that place; but I accept I could be wrong.
Best of luck to them both; if people are happy to pay then why not take it.
