Wonder how Eddie felt last night watching the show ? That is if he paid the £20. How can DAZN compete with cross promotion like that ?
Unless they pay big purse money Matchroom won't be getting a sniff of anything decent for a while
Yep. I think Eddie’s come across quite bitter about Brook/Khan. He would have been better saying he wanted to put the fight on but couldn’t get the deal done. He’s been saying for years that he wanted to make the fight yet when it happens it’s not even worth him watching. Very disingenuous. Just because it’s a fight he’s not involved in doesn’t mean he should put it down.
Unless something changes he/DAZN can’t get near the promotion Sky put together. I actually wonder if Adam Smith is the biggest promoter in the U.K. now - he’s the one doing the press conferences/interviews etc that Eddie used to do whilst Boxxer seem to be more matchmakers.
There was a fair bit of talk 6 months of Matchroom/DAZN looking to do some sort of deal with one of the main TV networks in the U.K. to push their fights/shows. They need something to happen fairly quickly.

Yeh. BBC, CH5 whatever it would be. It would help.

If they put the main event on BBC/ITV then why would you pay for the DAZN ? Most undercards these days aren't worth watching if that was put exclusively on the app

He does a BBC podcast, maybe he meant that.

There are lots of ways to play it. Highlights shows the day after as long as previews are shown. It’d be free content for the networks which would be unusual.

I thought that might be the foot in the door for the BBC. Clearly not.

They're not going to on the hour every hour.

What does DAZN even have in the pipeline?
I signed up for Canelo vs Saunders and have been too idle to cancel it…

The Conlan/Wood fight is going to be an excellent spectacle plus Warrington and Okolie fights are intriguing.
But none of that has the interest of Brook, Khan, Eubank, Fury, Whyte and Joshua.

Are they fine, really? I'm not so sure. Anybody who can put a bet on when they have children, for instance, has a problem IMO. I just don't understand why anybody would do it. They'll all say they can afford to lose what they lose but unless their children (or future children) are being given the best chance in life with a decent education, good food, extracurricular activities and, most importantly, time and attention the parents are degenerate IMO.
I will frequently bet 50p or a £1 on a football match or fight.
It’s just another form of entertainment, no different to buying a pint.
If I have a feeling about how something is going to go, I like to back it up in a definite way, no matter how small!
I'm glad someone else bets like a pensioner

It sounds like the big time when I say I've bet a tenner on a fight, but in English money that's £5

And I'll bet maybe 10 fights a year. Over my lifetime of tiny bets, I think I'm up very slightly.

I've cancelled my sub a while ago and won't be going back to it.
Unless they get the PL and start regularly showing better fights i won't be getting it back either. As for PPV they barely anything worth paying for currently let alone on a PPV. Let's see if they get Canelo back it might be a start.

Would only make sense if they get a highlights package post fight. It would be cheap/free too.

Yh of course. That’s why we guessed it would be BBC.

It is for us anoraks but Eddie really overpaid for that.
After all his bragging of taking over in the States the likes of Danny Jacobs are coming here for a payday now.
