Im confused about the start time. Most reports have it between 7:30 and 9pm UK time.......but Dubai is 4 hours ahead. So that would mean the fight would be on at some point between 11:30pm and 1am local time. That seems unlikely to me. I thought the Thor Eddie fight was before the pro show?
I suggest that the press have recorded the local time start as the UK time start (whoever wrote the press release for Segi should be fired if so).
So I reckon 4:30 pm is the likely UK start time
I’ve read it’s after the pro show. I’d imagine that it’s being pushed as the main event over there.
Ok that makes sense.
Has anyone been in the site? Seems utterly locked up and unresponsive. Anyone been able to sign in?

Ah man this is a squash match, Thor first few rounds in an uncompetitive washout. Guy has done rounds under the lights and never mind the 6inch height difference, Eddie's arms are waaayy shorter, thor easy, it's easy to call this low level a fight, this is a wash.
Bet you eddie overwhelms him with aggression. £20? got a feeling he'll get there first.
Yeah I'll take that, how do we do this. I'm not on revolut but on paypal

Wonder if Mariusz Pudzianowski Is seeing a vested interest in this. If Eddie did win, he's that delusional of his talent could see him drumming up an even bigger payday throwing down the gauntlet to Mariusz.

I'm not sure if Mariusz just does the occasion fixed fight now. I could see Thor learning some mma skills and having a go though. For Eddie retirement reckons! Lol
Surely Thor at 11-8 is good value? If Thor survives the first onslaught then surely the basic fundamentals that Nelson has taught him will be enough?
Hall will fight with his hands low and chin up after 120 seconds.
Gassed out.
Eddie Hall reckons he's not too far off beating the hardest ever recorded punch. Kinda hoping he swings, misses Thor and lands one on himself. Having watched that 2012 charity fight its a definite possibility.
I’m kind of thinking the reason we never had Geoff Capes versus Jón Páll Sigmarsson the 1980’s boxing match, isn’t because nobody thought of it, it’s because the public back then would not have been dumb enough to give that kind of rubbish the time of day.

For a brief time Jon Pall Sigmarssun tried to get a boxing match with Mike Tyson believe it or not. Capes was more keen to get involved in crossover events, although stories since the 1980s have been that "Big Daddy" (UK wrestler) beat the crap out of Capes.

I read Capes’ autobiography years ago. It was actually very entertaining. Lots of stories of post competition epic pub crawls and brawls. I think they were easily as good as these two jokers fighting. Just needed the modern day juice. Strongman has got to be second only to bodybuilding as the most PED filled sport. I really think it must be.

Wow profound words.
Nobody even pretends they don’t take PEDs in these sports man.

Oh yeah, definitely.
Many of the heroes I had growing up are now deflated like balloons once they got off the gas or they got tremendously fat. Even with the steroids though they had to consume an enormous amount of protein and work hard like crazy to even achieve half the stuff they did but it's still disappointing finding out that the vast majority or all of them were on performance enhancing drugs.

Have you seen the punch? He runs at the machine. It’s not a punch that would land on anyone. Guys a clown.

Why does it disappoint you? They don’t pretend to be natty. It’s entirely your own projection that they are that leads to disappointment Rufus.
The top powerlifters are juicers unless they are in the IPF. They admit to it if you follow the sport closely enough.
The top strongmen of course are on gear. Katz, JPS, Eddie, Thor Ffs man. They have to be to get where they want to be. They do it for them, not you or polecats fantasies.
My mates trained by a former Britain’s strongest man. The guy makes his own gear and sells it to his clients. Most of them do. It’s just the way it is.

I think they were all on the Eastern Block model of probably loads of testosterone and steroids. But growth hormone hadn’t come along yet or a huge amount of sports science, so they were winging it in a sense.
