Just listened to it. I was expecting both to come out of it badly but I don’t think FW said anything wrong really.

Benz didn’t come across well but he probably does know his stuff. My wife’s a lawyer and usually stresses the importance for lack of ambiguity in any deals. Benz’s point around what constitutes promoting a fight on social media is probably fair. If he posts once on the day of the fight then they could argue that covers the point on the contract.

It’s crazy what Benz is asking for. I actually understood the request for proper transport for Whyte to the press conference and I guess that wasn’t offered until very late in the day so I can see why Whyte didn’t go over for it. The other requests are well OTT, aren’t contractual and when you’re being difficult they’re even less likely to be provided.

If all of this was so important to Whyte/his lawyer then Whyte should have done a deal pre purse bids and made sure they were covered in it. He didn’t and this is the risk of purse bids.

Loved when Jordon asked him whether the escrow was in the contract… yes or no.

Long pause….
He did call him baby, dont think FW heard it, he would have hit the fcuking roof if he'd clocked that and rightly so.

Reading the OPs comments Frank wasn’t coming across well in the part on his own that came before them both being on. Having two guys on a slight time delay on the end of two phones was always going to degenerate into a repeating of the phrase ‘can I finish?’ The OP said that it turned out the supposed press conference that Whyte didn’t turn up to was something else, a ticket seller or something like that. Probably similar to the thing Jake Paul didn’t turn up to where John Fury was punching walls in front of a video of Jake Paul. Obviously somehow that part conveniently gets left out the talksport video.

The part where I thought Frank didn’t come across great was where he suggested Dillian should sue his lawyer for advising him to sign a bad deal if he doesn’t get paid. Given the allegations around not paying fighters in a timely manner that’s come over the years. I remember some of the stuff that came out when Robin Reid was claiming not to have been paid in full that just makes you think how does anyone want to do business there.

There will be a lot of ‘whoaaa he’s played a blinder there boys’ during the build up. The guy with his hand raised at 11.30pm on fight night will be the one who’s played a blinder. George Groves played a blinder in both build ups to the Froch fights, he’d look a bit of a test to claim that he played a blinder now tho wouldn't he?

I genuinely don’t know what the end game for Whyte is, who are they trying to upset? Is he just a diva? I know he’s had everything his own way for a long time in terms of home advantage, ref, judges, drugs etc but surely he knows how purse bids work?

He wants to think himself lucky he’s fighting in his home city in a stadium he’s fought in before. He should go & ask some of the fighters that have been to Germany under purse bids to explain how they got on.

If he’s trying to unsettle Warren then how does that work? Warren’s had dozen’s of legal cases, he used to write a weekly column where he picked a fight with someone every week. He loves it.

If he’s trying to unsettle Fury then how does that work? He’s gone into fights without training, he’s got about 7 kids & has gone into camp whilst ones been seriously ill, he’s had his trainer die, he’s had his trainer not be allowed in the country he’s fighting in, he’s come back from been 27 stone. Does Whyte think he’s going to rattle him by not turning up to a press conference? I can’t see anyway he gets into Fury’s head.

I agree with your point re: Whyte suing his lawyer. I’ve been pretty vocal on here slating FW for phoenixing companies to avoid paying people (particularly with the Ricky Burns case) and I don’t see why Frank would be talking at all about non payment let alone what to do if he doesn’t pay.

Whilst I wouldn’t say Whyte’s played a blinder I do think he’s giving himself the possible opportunity to win by keeping his head down training. Ultimately that’s all he can do but it still probably won’t be enough to win him the fight.

Nice post, I could have highlighted more. :salut:
For a (so far) never was, Whyte has also earned truckloads of money. Those Chisora fights were ridiculously profitable considering it was- at the time, a second tier domestic fight with nothing on the line except some meaningless silver trinket.
And yet, here he is, the long awaited shot at a title, and he is being a little b*tch
I got no respect for the guy.
I'll catch him being knocked out on youtube because I ain't paying for that crap.

Well I imagine they didn't do the deal pre-purse bids because WBC guidelines said they could expect anywhere between 70-30 and 50-50 depending on prior earnings and status as a mandatory challenger. So Fury's side offering 75-25 or a flat fee were not offers that were ever going to be accepted.

Resultantly, it was outrageous that the WBC ruled 80-20 against a guy who had spent the majority of his career fighting on their ladder, and that is where all the problems stem from. But then again the problems of the WBC and their fvckery in regards to Whyte can be traced back to 2017; we are now in 2022 ffs.

Frank was raging when he was own. They also edited out on the YouTube video Jeff’s accusation of Frank being known to have poor financial accounts and being a non-payer.

Probably the best thing was to have walked away from the WBC back in 2017 when they first started showing favouritism to Breazeale. Hindsight is 20:20, I guess. Who knew boxing was so corrupt

They both came out of that poorly, from Frank saying Whyte should sue the lawyer if he doesn't get paid (sounded like Frank was hatching something to delay payment - like not promoting the fight, although I can't believe an ill defined word such as "reasonable" would be used in a contract this size) or the lawyer saying thst he signed the contract under some kind of hearsay gentleman's agreement that there would be further negotiations- what does that even mean?

I like Simon Jordan though, he gives a good perspective on all sports- he is also a big boxing fan and knows his boxing
