In Spain they’ve got half of the La Liga rights and have just done a deal with Orange to have things available on there. I assume the La Liga rights for them gave far more value for money than the football rights over here.

Im talking about DAZN in the UK. They have absolutely zero intention of widening out from boxing in terms of sport rights. That is hugely significant in terms of the eyeballs on Matchroom's boxing product.

BT Sport's financial position isn't reported on but the last media chatter was of them becoming profitable over the last two years.

Yeah - I can’t see DAZN getting any top tier U.K. rights in the short term. They may go for the darts or IPL but I can’t see anything more than that.

When the deal was finalised with BT and Discovery the announcement said that BT sport had losses of £222m in the 12 months ending in March. You have to scroll down for it but it’s there.

I’ve only given my account details to a couple of people and both wanted to watch fights after they’ve happened. I’ve never tried to watch a fight live and then someone use my account to watch it live. Perhaps they block that.

I pay 19 nok (Norwegian kroner) a month for Dazn. That's about £1.60

I get all the UK, US and any other countries fights. Also get some crappy womens football and the LIV golf.

I got the Joshua v Usyk fight on there included as well.

Massive fight archive, documentaries, chat shows.

It's amazing for the money

People talk about how much DAZN are paying on Joshua, how much have ESPN spunked on Fury?

I wonder how long DAZN can carry on in its present format ? Even if Joshua wins he will be on DAZN PPV not the monthly app subscription and how long can they put the likes of tomorrow's show as their only UK show for the month ?
It's a gamble for Hearn that hasn't come off , Boxxer have slotted into the SKY slot, F W has got his BT slot and paying another 8 quid for DAZN in the current climate is too much for many.

To get okolie where he was with how he was fighting is an amazing feat. at one point he was the miracle cure to insomnia. But, i understand why okolie is likely going to sky.

okolie is a UK draw with very little international apeal. His next couple of fights should be unifications, which sky will probably over pay for or put on PPV, and then he gets all the publicity of they sky hype train in the build up. After unifications win or lose, he will be going to heavyweight i predict, and at that point if he keeps winning he will be one of skys top box office guys.

Guys that want to fight USA and UK have a bit of a choice, but if your a UK tallent with UK apeal that sky wanna get behind i dont think DAZN can compete.

Boxing’s cyclical. There’s been many times during my decades of watching the sport when there’s been loads on TV followed by slim pickings. I think we’re going to go through a slim picking period soon. The attendances of all shows recently have been really poor and it looks like Matchroom on DAZN are going the way of Warren on allegedly. Eddie Hearn started with Matchroom USA with a ‘huge’ announcement of fighters, 16 shows a year, 4 of them mega PPV style. Now he’s down to around 5 or 6 a year with a total reliance on Canelo. The UK is the same. Maybe 15 a year with a total reliance on Joshua who still hasn’t fought on DAZN UK. It looks like a sinking ship to me with everyone desperate to get out. It’s very allegedly, a carbon copy. Only the biggest Matchroom fan, if they actually exist, can still think things are going well and Hearn could bail out and concentrate on the Sky side of Matchroom ( Darts, Pool, Snooker etc ), he’d hate it as I imagine he hates losing but things are clearly going south. That said he is promoting Usyk Joshua and Canelo Golovkin within the space of a few weeks but as I said previously it’s always Joshua and Canelo, the ( all be it very big ) sticking plaster on a decapitation.

Aj lost some appeal when he lost to Ruiz , lost a bit more when he got beat by Usyk , If he gets beat again which is highly likely he'll lose some more , he'll always be a big seller but with the money he's got its highly doubtful he'll carry on and risk losing more ,, Canelo well he's probably not going to be has big a draw and in any case he's his own man he'll probably go sign with the highest bidder next ,, Usyk , well once again probably have no loyalty to Hearn go down the most money route ,, So that leaves Hearn with the home grown route , which he has not got , instead of putting on good fights and trying to bring along good pro's into top pro's he's been charging caviar prices ppv and feeing up manky chinese (Benn ) its all gonna bite him on the arse ,, See how he goes when all he's got is Ebanie Bridges and Conor BENN

Well Dazn has some good fighters. Jessie Rod is looking like hes going to be a dominant champ. He also has the best at 135 and more.

I see Pulev running through Chis tonight and I think Maddy learns from the first fight (a fight he was winning and had Soro genuinely hurt 3/4 times) and wides Soro.
Could be a grim night boxing for those watching from 5.

Eddie needs fighters who are known by casuals. Whilst the likes of Okolie and Liam Smith are better fighters, neither will get people signed up to DAZN. I’m not saying Eubank Jr will be getting hundreds of thousands signed up but he’ll almost certainly driven more than the other fighters. Hopefully he’s in meaningful fights though.

I personally would much rather watch Liam Smith than Eubank Jr but I’d be in a bit minority saying that.

I get the impression that Eubank was pissed with the Kell Brook stuff. He thinks he was strung along by Boxxer.

Eubank never one for signing long deals so imagine this could just be for the Benn fight.

Benn losing to a ranked fella a couple of weights up would still leave Benn with lots of options.

If he lost in a blaze of glory it would substantially increase his stock.

His dad losing to Chris Eubank was probably the making of him, both as a fighter and a product.

I really hope that fight doesn’t happen as Eubank would just be too big.

They need to get Benn a meaningful fight at welterweight and forget about the rest.

Well DAZN got triple G, Canelo, Benn, Jaime Munguia, Felix Cash. Eubank 33 soon so probably in his peak or just past it. Needs to fight someone big. God knows hows hes number 2 boxrec middleweight.
