Is this a staring contest?
Cagey first 2 rounds that Smith won. Smith knocks O’Maison down heavily in the 3rd but O’Maison did well to last the round.

Smith can’t miss with the right hand. Reminds me a little of Kell Brook when he was fighting orthodox but without the power.

I reckon his power is just fine - reluctant to use it is the problem.

I went to the Commonwealth boxing Thursday night. Quarter Finals.
Incredible atmosphere. Some brilliant fights. Crowd of all ages and gender.
I know because its the Games you can draw some kind of crowd for everything.
But there is a lot to learn for pro boxing from these events.
Watching this shite for 10 minutes is hard work. Athletics back on.
Excellent, glad to hear it. I’m there for the morning session tomorrow
I'm there in the morning.
Wicked, I’ll catch up with you mate, pm your number

Well he gets the win in some style.
It's good to be a bit cautious and not look for the KO too much I guess, might help him later on.

Ok so it’s an Aussie bird commenting, do I assume that’s Ebanie Bridges?
Whoever she is she’s not that insightful but I do like her habit of going ‘oo-OI’ when particularly impactful shots land.

Yeah - it’s good for his long term development and he finished it great. I was worried he’d be waiting until rounds 10/11 to throw a bit more.

Punch perfect from Smith, real calmness, composure and spite to deal with O'Maison comfortably, couldn't miss him with that right hand, whether straight or looping it landed every time, he barely wasted a shot, dropped O'Maison heavily in the 3rd with a right hand /left hook and a short right to help him on his way, O'Maison went down fast , looked like a finisher at first, the fact that Smith is so patient is the reason O'Maison hung around until the 6th, showed bravery and he continued eating right hands for fun, still you knew a heavy KO was inevitable, Smith had him down again in the 6th, the straight right again, the finish was first class, the looping right, missed with the left but landed the right again hard as O'Maison was falling, no point in a count, Smith was battering him

Be fuming if you had a bet on a 7-12th round stoppage.
Very end of the round, was down for about 2 seconds not even looking very bad, waved, got up not wobbly.
I don’t hate that stoppage on a undercard with nothing on the line. But main event for a British title gotta let that go. Corner and dr have a full min to keep an eye on him befor he has to box again let them make that call.

Nah thought the stoppage was bang on personally, O'Maison never showed anything apart from being a hard bastard, his eyes did look clear after every knockdown though I will say that

Ok I’ll rephrase what I said. You don’t have to let it go, but you have to give him a count and have a proper look. Don’t like how he just waved it as he hit the ground.
had he waited 5 seconds to asses he would of seen omasion up, could of got to 10 had a real look, step left, step right… if he is clear there it is up to him, his corner, or the dr to pull him out.
***Different angle you see the towel go in so refs decision didn’t change the outcome. Corner making that call is fine. Just don’t think it’s refs place to wave it there without a proper count/look.

Refs maybe had it in his head that if O'Maison goes down one more time he's stopping it
