I met George when he was part of the HBO commentary team at the Hamed v Bungu fight in London a few years ago. He walked past where I was milling around with about 4 minders, all of whom were smaller than he was (he is absolutely huge). We made eye contact and I said "What is the world coming to when George Foreman needs bodyguards?" (I had a smile on my face and said it in a jokey way). It obviously amused George and he came over shook my hand and said (and I promise this is verbatim, I am not deliberately trying to make him sound like BA Baracus) "George Foreman don't need no minders. Them fools at HBO insist I go everywhere with protection". We chatted for a while, both my mate and I being complimentary about the early stages of his career and his re-birth 15 odd years later. He was witty and good fun with us but there was just an undercurrent air of menace about him - a few people around the Arena had noticed he had stopped to chat and came over to chat and he was havng none of it. Big smiles, but check out his eyes. Heard quite a few stories about people bumping into him when the cameras are off and he's a pretty mean SOB.
No change there then...who told that story about some HBO guy trying to talk a prime Tyson into a big fight with Big George.
Tyson's reply was along the lines of -
"NO WAY. I'm not going near Foreman, that guys a m*****f***ing killer!"
