Clearly he's fighting Carlos Adames for the WBC on the February card which looks to be a very big show. Assuming he wins they can then look to do a unification with Janibek in the summer, which by then it would be a very big fight.
I don't see the issue personally.
Janibek is number 1. I liked boxing when the ambition was to beat the number 1 and become number 1. I'm not a fighters accountant or businessman. I am a boxing fan mostly of the old time fighters who weren't going around ducking fights back in those days and then having Internet posters acting as their accountants doing a balance sheet on Internet forums, giving them excuses.

I don't disagree with your basic sentiments, but Sheeraz is a heavily backed fighter and apart from the odd exception, whats deemed to be best for business in this game is usually the one that gets taken. I'm not sure how far your going back if you are missing old times as that's usually always been the case. I don't really blame anybody for that and It's not like fighting Adames for the WBC belt is some bum fight either.
The sport needs as many big fights as possible, and this one has abit of room to grow. As we know the Saudis want the unifications thankfully, so I think they will push for it in the next round of fights.
Assuming that's the plan, I don't see the hurry personally.

How old are you? I've been following since the 80's and it's always been the case.

Put it this way. I know who the likes of Nigel Benn, Pacquaio, Froch, Cotto, De La Hoya, Morales, Marquez, Usyk would have wanted to fight in this situation. They wouldn't have ducked any smoke.
