Shame he wouldn't fight Jones when they were both in their prime. Despite holding only the WBO belt, he insisted that Jones fight him in Germany.

Sad thing is, DM was the true 175 champion, even though he would only fight boxers that had virtually no chance of winning!

that´s not right. both wanted to much money for that fight (more than 10 millions $) so nobody could realise it.

Only in the sense that he was linear champion, which is virtually meaningless in the days of fractured belts.

I don't think he would have gotten near Jones in their primes.

Regardless of Money issues, there was no way on God's earth that Jones was going to fight in Dariusz' back yard after his experiences at the olympics.

Well I am entitled to my opinion, I just don't see how a leaden footed fighter like Dariusz would have coped with the Jones who still moved around the ring like lightning.

sorry, DM was better than on Saturday. And he had a iron chin. maybe the better chin gave him the chance to win vs RJJ. but it´s just speculation. general it would have been a 50/50 fight.

He was always slow and easy to hit though.

Because most of them weren't much cop, Jones (in his prime) was miles ahead of anyone Dariusz ever faced.

Jones and Dariusz were close together. the fight didn´t happen. we don´t know who was better. end of this discussion. it´s speculation.

i hope both retire. both have done enough and don´t have to prove anything. it´s better for their health to stop fighting.

DM would have been lucky to land a punch on Jones in their primes and he certainly did not have the one punch power to end the fight! Like James said, 48-0 is easy when you face 3rd rate fighters and all of the recycled opponents that Roy Jones had already beaten, but much more impressively that DM ever did. DM actually lost in his 32nd bout against Graciano Rocchigiani, but thanks to the good ole German boxing commission and Klaus-Peter Kohl, DM, who was knocked silly in that bout, had the orginial L KO 7 changed to W DQ 7, and you wonder why boxers don't want to fight in Germany against a German/German Adopted fighter!!

Grace would have also knocked RJJ out.

Have to say, Roy didn't seem to confident of beating DM though. They were both as bad as each other when it came to refusing to leave their own countries ( along with JC of WALES ).
Real WORLD champions defend their titles wherever the money is, like Tszyu for instance. And DM probably drew a bigger crowd than Jones ever did.
Fair to say they ducked each other. Price we pay for having some many effing titles floating about these days...

I never claimed that we are the home of boxing. After Green gets the belt he was robbed of we will have 2 Australian born world champs along with Darchinian and Tszyu that both claim Australia as there home. We still have Briggs fighting for the title as well not bad for a country with 20 million people. How many legit German champs are there Beyer Who won the title with a robberie and will get a beating in 2 weeks. Im not talking WBO orWBU either.

Beyer is a paper champion, but his reign as fake-champ will be over very shortly when Green demolishes him!

Personally I hope Green does do a number on him, I feel he was robbed in their first fight, although admittedly Beyer was coming back at the time of the DQ.
