Damaged goods, no doubt.

Likewise. It is a cruel condition and it isn't a case of 'stopping before the symptoms start.' It most often strikes years later, even though the damage is already done.jwfg wrote: ↑16 Aug 2023, 12:26Ten years after he retires, the damage will be clear. I know some former boxers who felt fine after their last fight, a decade later, they can't fasten their shoes laces,Steveh583 wrote: ↑15 Aug 2023, 17:33I agree. He’ll decline rapidly in retirementRedback Rasta wrote: ↑14 Aug 2023, 20:43
Morbid as it sounds, I think the damage has already been done in Chisora's case.
Naturally I hope I'm wrong about that.

Atlas on Chisora :
“He’s 39 years old. But he might as well be 79. Because the way you judge a fighter, age is not chronological, it’s by the amount of punishment he has taken. He has taken a lot of punishment, especially the last few years as he’s gotten older and older. He’s taken so many punches, when is enough enough?
Sooner or later something bad is going to happen, do you not understand that? At some point you have to protect someone from themselves when they’re that much of a warrior.
When are you going stop, when he dies in the ring?"

maybe he'd be more likely to retire if people stopped giving him multi million dollar world title fights

Chis really really really should retire. Butttt I’d still watch him vs most of the top 50.
Perfect prospect fodder, although rather than prospects I’d rather him fight old faded guys..: Ortiz, Lucus brown, char, or Whyte 3 (who I believe is somehow equally faded).
8 rounders only though (unless he fights for the British title)

If Eddie doesn't promote him, someone else will. That said, I'd have a lot of respect for Eddie if he said 'enough's enough'.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑19 Aug 2023, 20:50 maybe he'd be more likely to retire if people stopped giving him multi million dollar world title fights
