The only way this fight can take place is a special injunction taken out by the lawyers forcing
The hand of the BBBofC.
It is too late for another sanctioning body.
It took weeks to organise Haye v Chisora
Did we have BIBA then? I’m pretty sure Frank set the precedent with the Luxembourg commission. Money talks with this kind of thing and I’m sure they can move quickly if they want to.

Conor Benn os a cheating prîck. Get him banned for life, and he should be sued by Algieri and all the other guys he suddenly started blasting out. Scumbag.

Only if Eubank Jr (and all other licence holders involved) are willing to give up their BBBofC licences.

Agreed. I'm on one today but I'm fed up with everybody letting the clowns run the show. Hearn, Sauerland and the like are cancer to boxing. Most people won't realise it for another decade or so. Not bothered about Benn, he should be banned but he's just a here today gone tomorrow type. Hearn and co will keeping kicking our sport until it is dead IMO.
Explains why Benn is always so testosterone fueled, fck him and his B sample, shame I was on the train but I'm off it now, Eddie deserves his loss of earnings for trying to pull it off regardless, shame for all involved, hope Eubank gets paid

Everyone who fought on that show boxed on board shows straight after. And fw promoted....
Didn't they pick on Bruce Baker?

Mickey, I wouldn't claim to know the detail on that. I suspect there were some very exceptional circumstances that led to peace breaking out all round. This feels a bit different. EH's interview sounds like he does not want to create a rift with the Board.
Reason for looking into it is because the "not in the interests of boxing" ruling seemed odd - if a British licence-holder had tested positive, they could have suspended him until the B sample was tested and could have said that the fight could not take place as one of the two boxers was under suspension. So has the organisation that licences him not yet suspended him?
OK, no takers for this question so far. The EH interview above talks as if Conor Benn is a BBBofC licence holder. Wonder if he has been removed from the website so he does not appear as either suspended or not suspended (in case either position creates a problem for the BBBofC). All a bit curious.
And as for EH saying that they cannot suspend him because the BBBofC does not recognise VADA, they potentially can, by either of two other routes:
- Reg 25.1.1(c) says that misconduct includes "any failure to honour any contractual obligation". If the need to pass VADA testing has been built into the contract, then failing the test would appear to breach that contractual obligation, so misconduct. However, have the BBBofC seen the contract?
- Under Reg 25.1.1, misconduct means "conduct detrimental to the interests of boxing or the public interest". As the Board have already said it is not in the public interest for the contest to go ahead, that would appear to indicate that Benn has done something that fits within this definition.
So they have routes to suspend if they are minded to do so.

Jones Jr always had a massive amount of testosterone above and beyond the normal. Lawyers got him off.
Mayweather? Didn't he once test normal levels? He'd go the cheating off to a fine art.

This is not the same. This is an artificial substance not something produced naturally by the body. Not that Roy was clean but you get my point.

Didn't Hearn pull Buatsi from a fight because the opponent wouldn't sign up to VADA? Now he wants this fight to go ahead even though they just found something.

Lets be honest, most fighters do cycles. Benn just got caught out doing the clean up. When big Larry Olubamiwo got done he had no remorse. He said it is rampant in the sport and you have no choice if you want to be competitive. I believe him. Benn will get stick and he's damaged his reputation beyond repair but I don't judge him too harshly.

Buatsi pulled himself out but the point still stands, why sign up for vada if you're just gonna ignore their findings?

The fight has already been ruined. Now we have all this shady stuff which doesn't wash with people. I think interest in this fight (from a boxing point of view) will take a nose dive.
Does anyone care about the result of the fight now? Benn can't win the fight, even if he lays Eubank out in the middle of the ring in the first round...

Someone on twitter reminded me Benn was removed from WBC rankings not long ago for failing to enroll in VADA

Few things here that really stand out .
I think Photo's of Benn recently sort of tell everyone he's using the size he's at ,,
Eubank snr wanting it stopped now speaks volumes seems he already knew a couple weeks ago
Benn is a cheating bastard , too be honest i think his father was has well ,, but it seems that Simms is well in there ,
There stupid if your gonna do it be smart enough you don't get caught .
Hearn well he just does'nt give a fooook does he providing the ppv goes ahead ,
Benn well he should but won't be banned for life .
BRITISH BOXING IS CORRUPT AND STINKS ,, from bad discisions , blatant robberys , handpicked gimmee fights , down to outright blatant cheating it STINKS
However part of me still wants the fight to go ahead , simply because i would love nothing more than to see Benn start to gas out and take a very long and sustained beating that would end the cheating bastards carreer ,, for me its just the sheer audacity of the man , to cheat and use the way he obviously has , yet still continually bragg , boast about every thing from his cars to his wins

Another point ….
I have already stated its too short a time to get a foreign sanctioning board in. Theres numerous points why it would not be possible.
Another point is many sanctioning boxing boards from other countries have an alliance with BBBofC so would back their sanctions.
Sayin all that I see one chink in the armour and that is Saueurlands/Wasserman have a great relationship with the Getman boxing board … but even if they were keen … it would take a awful lot of time to organise … certainly not within 3 days.
If the BBBofC stand firm is a postponement… with a fight tsking place say at the end of october beginning of november

Good post but don't you think most of the guys at that level are on gear? You have said you are involved in boxing, training young kids and so on. What would be the highest level of fighter that you've trained? I would have thought you'd have insight into the amount of drug use that goes on.
I was just surprised at your vitriol towards Benn.
