Don King paid Witherspoon about 20k for the Bruno defence

Eddie got Rocky Fielding a million dollar payday

Fast Car looks after his fighters, maybe it's the customer who gets short changed!

Everyone has their job to do, fighters fight, trainers train, promoters promote. For me it's the board who have come up short here.

I do think he needs to be imprisoned. Then we’ll see if he ‘thrives on stress’ (stress!? He doesn’t know the meaning of the word). We’ll see how cocky he is in jail.

That’s exactly where Eubank Sr was attempting to put him had the fight gone ahead.

Why do you think he should be imprisoned?

Here comes "daz" and his constant defending of dazn and hearn.
The dazn/hearn bum licking from you is obvious. What a Shill.

How many will be subscribing to watch those cards ? They've lost the revenue from the Benn PPV and nothing of that magnitude on the way now, dream on if you think things will be the same for DAZN/MR going forward
i don’t know how many will watch those cards, but i find it hard to believe people who were planning to will change their mind just cause of conor benn ?

Because Hearn is seen as the face of DAZN, it benefits him to try to maintain a good image. ..We have inflation here and people are cancelling their streaming services :KO: .

The cards planned only appeal to the hardcore boxing fan, the Benn fight rightly or wrongly was a crossover and making you buy a month subscription to watch the PPV brought eyes to the product. I can't see anyone but the hardest of hardcore fans subscribing because of what is scheduled on DAZN when you have similar content on SKY and BT lined up

It was 36 years ago and Witherspoon's purse was reported as $900,000.

Dave Allen claimed he cleared £9000 for fighting Luis Ortiz.

There’s quite a good article from the Chicago Tribune detailing some of the stuff King did.

For Witherspoon/Bruno, Tim’s purse was $1.7m. However King said he’d get just $550k (Don’s son Carl was the notional manager and he received half of the purse as he got 50% of the purses for most of Don’s heavyweights at that time). Apparently Tim got $115k after expenses.

The Mail are now running with "30% of Eddie Hearn contests involved a drug cheat"! He's upset someone there.

They’re talking headline (not contests) fights this year involved a fighter who had previously tested positive or tested positive after. A couple of Canelo, Conor Benn and probably a couple of other fighters.

I wouldn’t be surprised if this sorry saga has taken a couple of years off Eddie’s timeframe for getting out of the sport. Things are really not looking good for him with this mess and his stable is starting to look threadbare aswell.

Bricktop and Shalom are also on the move, has he got the stones to fight it out..

Seems a lot would like to see the back of Hearn ,, i get people don't like him he;s a pratt , BUT i kep saying he's a promoter , course he did'nt want his show cancelled , but it was 'nt him who gave Benn drugs , it was'nt him that made Benn take them , and you really can't hold him any more responsible than what you can hold , fish eyes responsible because he's now promoting a drug cheat ,, certain gypsy fella from up north , In fact most would say Hearn is also a big loser , he fronts DAZN put a lot into it and they needed this fight , he fronted up money he's going to lose although personaly i doubt it , i think its just made the fight even bigger ,, only draw back would be if Benn gets banned and i doubt that will happen .

But whats gonna happen if Hearn is driven out ot just gets sick of it and leaves boxing behind , you can kiss goodnight to a lot of deent matchups , remember the other big promoter in town is giving us Fury -- Chisora ,, been pushing for Duboi -- Brown ,, real sterling stuff that is is'nt it .

People should be held accountable for this and other fiascos , but Hearn is well down the least on who it should be , still a pratt though

There are some Posters who make excellent points and whom I respect their opinions hugely, however, it wont be that long before it's business as usual for Fast Eddie 👎

It's an outrage for sure, but sadly PED cheating hasn't been dealt with firmly enough in the past and now we are seeing the effects of that leniency :verysad:

Proven PED use should = lifetime ban from boxing

100% And it is really easy to see why people want to blame Hearn , call for his liscence ban him , jail him , kill him ,, draw and quarter him then spread his parts around the country ,,, But if you really want to fix these problems you have to do all this to the others who deserve it has well and he is nowhere near the top of the list , Theres people well in front of him ,, athlets who takes it , doc who prescribes it , trainers who endorce it , managers who suggest it officials , who ignore it, when it suits .

Eddie puts on an act of “i’m a boxing promoter but i’m not like all those other boxing promoters” but when alls said and done they are all one and the same.

Crooked, corrupt and out only for themselves….obviously with some being a bit more ruthless and shameless than others.

Years ago probably 25 , i backed a couple of shows , and tell you , honestly with the thought of losing money and taking the gamble i too became more buisness than anything else it did become largely about the money , why would i want to give mine away ,,, It is profesional not a charity , the aim is too make money and Eddie does do that quite well ,,

He probably has the loyalty of a snake , he's a pratt , but he pays his fighters on time and apparantly if your lucky enough for him to think you got what it takes pays well ,, he's not perfect but better than others

Hearn has probably been the best promoter to come out of the UK on my lifetime. I get that promoters are unpopular but come on...

To put it in perspective, Ricky Hatton was one of the biggest draws to ever come out of the UK and he made around 15 defences of his WBU title. Hearn has never done anything remotely as bad as that.

Yeah. The Ricky one was interesting. I think he was promoted really well, he was kept active but his opposition wasn’t great. Timing wise though it was perfect when he fought Tszyu. Ability wise he may have been ready for a weaker world champ 18 months earlier. I think Hatton suffered more when he only fought twice a year as he’d balloon more in weight.

I think Calzaghe is a worse case of poor promotion. 17 title defences before a unification nearly 9 years after he won the title and many of the defences against poor opposition.

Can't believe anyone in hindsight would suggest Joe or Ricky were poorly promoted.

These guys kept healthy and ended up making ridiculous money as well as becoming absolute legends of British boxing.

Sure the pair of them could have taken different fights and paths at different times, but that can be said for most.

I think Calzaghe may well have been the best British fighter in my lifetime but he had 9 years where he didn’t have many meaningful fights. A world champ at 25 but didn’t fight Lacy until he was 33/34 from memory. He should have been a star and selling out big arenas well before he was/did.
