I feel we will see an improved Loma - he cant expect to get away with a slow start and grow into the fight vs Haney .

im going for a Haney win by tight margin maybe 2/3 rounds up after 12 .

Looking forward to this.
Haney seems to have developed a big ego - not sure if it's a publicity thing to push sales, but can't help seeing shades of Teo about him .. hope the ego doesn't spoil his career too.

Haney on PTS looks a safe bet.
Would Loma to do it though ..

I’d love it if Loma did it.

I don’t have a problem with Haney.

He’s deserved everything he’s achieved.

Looking at them walking through hotel the other day, Devin looks huge next to Loma, I hadn’t realised the true size difference - let’s see at the weigh in, but looks like he’ll have to much size advantages here..

Weigh in is at 9 am as well..

So Haney will have plenty of time rehyrate.

I can't see anything else but a Haney win here. Sadly.

Loma is my favourite fighter of this era. He mixes it with bigger boys as his skill level allows him to. I do think that he’s not as good as he once was though and the size difference will come to play a part later in the fight. Think Loma loses on points( hope I’m wrong though).

Lomachenko must be slowing surely but the mistakes he made against Lopez and even Ortiz last time out are the same mistake he made against Salido, not busy enough early on, he still oozes class, if he can work at a pace for 12 then h can beat Haney imo

Bloody hell, not sure why lomas people agreed to that. I don’t like seeing greats like loma and chocolatito chasing money and fights at what is effectively the wrong weight for them .
James Toney ended up damaged doing that, though he’s an extreme example I guess.

It’s not about money for Loma. He’s a warrior. Said he missed out on capturing the undisputed belts.

He even gave some of his purse to Teo to make that fight happen.

watchin a few of the promo vids in the last few days and get the feeling Loma is just a bit unsure of himself here - maybe he is playing underdog intentionally who knows .
Gotta be a classic this one !!

Loma on how he feels going into this fight compared to when he fought Teofimo Lopez
“Look, right now it’s a different style and it’s 100% a different motivation because when I fought with Lopez I was a world champion, three times...right now I’m focusing 100%, right now I’m preparing 100% like always, but right now it looks like: you wake up with this dream, you go to bed with this dream, you live everyday only with this goal in your head.”

On fighting Haney now instead of four years ago
“We have a little bit two different story, because when he asked me about fight he asked when he was without a belt. I hold three belts and I chase my dream and I had a chance to take another belt. But right now situation, (in his contract) he don’t have a choice. In official, he need to give me this chance because when he signed, in the contract he was 100% if he win belts, then he go in Australia and take four belts — in the contract that he signed it was a part where he need to give me this chance.

“So that’s why. This is a real story. So it’s not I ask him ‘hey, give me please this chance, give me this chance’, it was official.”

On if he’s annoyed by Haney calling him a dirty fighter
“No, absolutely not, it’s not bother me. I know who I am and I know what I can, and I think always in my boxing career, I think I always was a gentleman. So I don’t know. I can’t comment (on) his words. Maybe you ask him why he say it.

But it’s in the rule,” Lomachenko responds. “But it’s normal, then you stay in the clinch and work and then when the referee say something you need to react. But if he stay quiet and don’t say nothing, I need still continue working. It doesn’t matter, inside, outside, clinch, no clinch, I still work. Yes? Is it in rule?! So I don’t understand.

“Maybe he need to read the rules, maybe he need to study a little bit the rules, maybe. I don’t know.”

On if he truly believes Haney is on his skill level
“I don’t know. It’s just we have a theory and we have practice, and I love more practice than theory because when you practice you can feel it, and you can answer after that all questions on the theory...maybe he’s faster, maybe he’s bigger, maybe he’s stronger, but it’s not only this part (in) game of boxing. We have experience, we have IQ, and of course, motivation.”

Bit uncalled for that shove on Loma, who’s a gent until the bell rings.
Yeh he looks much bigger of course, but if the Ukrainian maestro is anywhere near as good as he was, he’s the one who boxes like a dream and could outslick Haney. First 3 rounds and we’ll know which way this one is going.

Loma looks like Steve McQueen in cool hand Luke

Devin Haney shoves Vasiliy Lomachenko at weigh-in; NSAC filing complaint

After Devin Haney forcefully shoved Vasiliy Lomachenko at Friday's ceremonial weigh-in, the Nevada State Athletic Commission is set to file a complaint with its attorney's office for a disciplinary hearing at its next meeting, sources told ESPN.

Haney, who is set to earn $4 million guaranteed for his undisputed lightweight championship defense vs. Lomachenko on Saturday (10 p.m. ET, ESPN+ PPV), will likely be fined, sources said.

The commission also requested a second physical exam of Lomachenko (17-2, 11 KOs) to medically re-clear him for the fight out of an abundance of caution, per sources, though the Ukrainian seemed unfazed afterward.

"Now he's mine," said Lomachenko, who weighed 135 pounds at Friday morning's weigh-in. "He don't have the power. ... He's scared. ... I see right now and a hundred percent (he's scared)."

Haney, who weighed 134.9 pounds for the second defense of his four lightweight titles, was booed after the shove. The promotion was fairly tame until Haney, 24, launched the challenge across the stage, injecting some hype into the showdown between two of boxing's best fighters.

"That was just the start," said Haney, who fights out of Las Vegas. "You see how easy I pushed him? He's a smaller man and I'm gonna impose my will on him."

Lomachenko, a former three-division champion, will earn $3 million guaranteed, sources said. The 35-year-old lost his three lightweight titles to Teofimo Lopez in October 2020.

Haney (29-0, 15 KOs) won the undisputed lightweight championship with a unanimous decision victory over George Kambosos Jr. in June and retained his titles in the rematch in Australia in October. Haney is ESPN's No. 1 lightweight while Lomachenko is ranked No. 2.

Jeff Mullen, the executive director of the Nevada State Athletic Commission, didn't return a message seeking comment.
