aj destroyed him easily and quickly but no one else has even come close to that. he deserves more respect
Yeah. People talk of Martin like he’s a bum. He’s not. He didn’t help himself though fighting AJ in pretty poor condition.
That’s what he gets remembered for unfortunately.

And a peak AJ, with hindsight, wasn't that bad. It's sad to see him nowadays, a shadow of his former self.

97-92 Anderson, great win and an excellent learning fight for him, Martin was having a good 3rd before Anderson dropped him at the death with a quick counter right hook, Anderson passed a gut check in the 5th was hit clean an hurt several times in the round but recovered well, he showed good variety to head and body, kept his composure switched effectively, Martin boxed well behind his southpaw jab at times but too passive, he should've pressed and threw more, he hurt Anderson with one of the last punches of the fight, too little too late, good win from Anderson and the lessons learned will be invaluable

Makhmudov looks like he carries serious weight in those punches, not explosive but heavy hands, more Foreman than Tyson

Well done to the person who picked Anderson by decision AFTER he won via decision.

Hes fighting in a wild manner. I'll give him credit for coming in to maul his opponents but I'll be surprised if we don't see him get mullered to the canvas at some point.

Charles Martin: "I Did The Best I Could, Jared Anderson Will Make His Way To The Top"

"I took the fight on 11 days’ notice. I did the best I could. He’s a real champion. He’ll be making his way to the top soon. I’m proud of him," Martin said.

“He’s really good. He’s a crafty boxer. Usually, when I catch somebody and hurt them, I can finish them. If they don’t fall, usually I can follow up and put them away. But he is like a little middleweight. He is crafty. He was able to get out even when he was rocked. He was able to maneuver and get out the way. He’s going to be a champion.”

Makhmudov is a scary looking individual  proper clubbing punches from the big man. Johnson v Montrel was a decent enough undercard bout, some nice exchanges at times but Johnson the quicker, slicker fighter by a fair distance. Martin did well in the main event, echo the previous posts in relation to his level, not a bad operator and provided a solid test for Anderson.

Speaking of heavyweights for the future Delicious Orie won gold and a place in Paris 2024 in a very tough European games. He will be heavily backed if he wins gold there.

There may not be much left of Paris if this rioting keeps going on.

Especially with that name. He’ll have sweet and biscuit companies lining up to advertise their tat.
