"lucky" :shame:

If Maxi was the home fighter that was 116-112 win for him.
I really don't mind the wafer thin MD for GFK, but it's the same old carp - That certain, sinking feeling that the judges "happened to prefer" the home fighter's style and at least one card was written beforehand.

Was that a final eliminator for IBF? because if kambos can get Lemos to australia he will likely be world champ again.

Coms are taking the piss acting like max dominated... entire fight they were talking about ring generalship... you cant dominate on ring generalship, you dominate on landing punches... punch count was 90-95 or somthing very close... there just working each other up. The 117 was very bad. but that was a close fight either way.

Crazy that a fight this close is having the biggest "robbery" blow up by commentators i think iv ever seen. and because of that fans are just blindly following. i dont care how slick you look, boxing is about punching not ring generalship... punchstats arnt everything but thats a close fight...

I watched it without sound and through Australian eyes and I can't believe Kambosos got the decision.

I actually predicted a Kambosos points win but I didn't witness one.

Pretty ridic that Kambosos beat Teofimo when you consider that he notched close decisions against 3 contenders and 2 losses to Haney. He was elite for one whole fight in his life.

Amazing how few clean shots were landed by either fighter. A fight where you just kept watching and waiting for something to happen and it just didn't.

Watched it at the pub in Melbourne with a few mates, All hoping for a Kambosos win. We all thought Hughes won a tight fight, we couldn't here the commentators. Before the result was known one of our mates said George had signed a 5 fight deal with Showtime and we thought the fix was in. Couldn't complain about the 114 114 score but 111-117 was absolute rubbish,

cliose fight. sure.

the problem is the inexplicable wide scorecard with little relation to the actual in ring action.

it's the same old song. it is what it is. either it's absolute incompetence or it must be corruption that made that judge come up with the 117 - 111.

if u are judging the actual fight unbiased and with the most basic knowledge of the deciding factors to determine the winner of a round, it just won't let u come up in no way with 117 - 111.

Oh agree the 117 is bad, and the predictabilty is worse. i said that same thing a fight or 2 earlier when a simular thing occured...

my point is its strage how much people in coms were going crazy about this "robbery" rather than just attacking that one bad card. bradly was calling it a masterclass from maxi through the fight, and the scorer guy was also into it being an absolutly dominant preformance. which just isnt correct for me.

It can still be a robbery even if it was close.
GGG vs Canelo 1 was a robbery even tho' you might have 115-113 - and this was similar.
It wasn't a 120-108 shoutout scored for the wrong guy, but it WAS the promoted fighter - who's just signed a deal and is lined up for big events - getting a gift they didn't deserve.

Of course, fights can be robberies'.

Imagine 99 people scored the fight for boxer A, and then 1 person has it for boxer B.

No problem for me with the scorecards. It was a close and somewhat boring fight and could have also been a draw but lets be fair Hughes didn't really shine out there either. He looked better in the first half of the fight and Kambo looked better in the second half. With round 1 for Kambosos and round 4 even I had it 116-113. Definitely not a robbery.

I thought Maxi edged it but it is clear they want George to win a title again (after Devin relinquishes), maybe in Australia. Kambosos can only do one fight.

That's it isn't it ?

It's not the worst decision - it was close, what you like, etc. - but just that we knew that GFK was getting it and we'd be just as certain Maxi woulda got it if HE was the just-signed-to-Top Rank guy.

The difference in the judges' scores may have something to do with the judges sitting on different sides of the ring from each other, so they do not see the fight from the same vantage points as each other.

117--111 Well thats just a pisstake through and through , but the actual fight Kambosas did'nt win Hughes threw it away , prsonally i had him winning 6 rnds to two at the end of rnd 8 he just outboxed him , but then took his foot of the gas rnds 9-12 a good case could be made for a draw but a Kambosas win was a bit much
