How does this guy have any fans
By being a con artist , just like what he accused Haye of being, that's why Tyson does well verbally, he takes a narrative and plays it up really well

"Shoutout to Kinahan!". " I don't get involved in other people's business"

Usyk the cruiserweight party pooper was not meant to appear in Tyson Fury world. He's going the 'ignore it, it'll maybe go away' route. Tyson's smart enough boxing-wise to know he doesn't want any of that.

Fury looks in bad shape, but I’m willing to wager that is the best shape he’s ever going to get in from now on.
He is likely in good enough shape to beat a boxing novice, but one can only hope it backfires.

Agreed :TU:

I think Fury is not far from where he wants to be right now.
Achieved celebrity and getting lots of attention, very rich, and still has a very big portion of that 3% of the population below the threshold for borderline mental retardation (roughly IQ 70) who idolise him (Dull-Dev being a good example).

Fury admits being undisputed was never his goal. And its probably somewhere as close to the truth as what you will ever hear someone from the Fury family say. Of course he would like undisputed - but celebrity, money and adoration from the morons is a lot more attractive to him.

Like Hatton who ruined himself with a bad lifestyle, Fury has probably done the same. Fury has the advantage of modern PEDs to help him ... but even they have a limit of what they can do.

He's basically retired from top flight boxing, he will never fight Usyk that has been clear all along, I've no problem with him doing the misfits stuff but he should definitely not have that WBC strap. Do the decent thing, give it up and let real active boxers fight for it.

One thing I don't think Fury realises is that he retires or vacates and Usyk beats Wilder for the WBC belt then Fury instantly becomes one of the rest (Joshua, Wilder, Ruiz?) when this era is looked back on.

His legacy is finished anyway, he has just publicly said he doesn't want to fight boxers as he has already proved he is the best boxer of all time yada yada yada, despite hardly fighting any of the top 10 and now just wants big fights the next being Jon Jones  History will not be kind.

If Ngannou is fatally injured in this fight, which is not beyond the realms of possibility when you pit the second best heavyweight in the world against an ancient beginner, who would be responsible?

Are there any sanctioning bodies?

No. It won’t appear on Tyson’s boxing record. It’s an exhibition.

Nobody is getting hurt, it'll be a staged walk around.

As per the BBC article
“I need to be on my A-Game” said The Gypsy King.

Saying that he looks like a sack of potatoes.

Good enough shape to beat a novice though. You’d think.

If not. Oh dear.

What do we think his weight is currently. Must be 21 stone plus I’d think. Fairly unlikely to lose much between now and the event I’d guess.

I would love it if he got sparked.

Fury knows the truth and for someone with fragile mental health he will have to live with that for the rest of his life.

He can convince millions of people that he is some fearless fighting man but there is one person he will not convince - himself

Really being overloooked how dogshit "exhibitions" are.

If this was a legit pro fight i would suck, but at least you would know they are fighting....

But its not a legit pro fight, its an exhibition.... which means they might be fighting, but it also means it could be WWE.... Fury might go stone cold steve ostin and drink 19 beers on his walk out.... nganu might tag in is camaroonian mate takem for a round.... you just dont know because its not a pro fight so they dont gotta do sh!t. plus they can legaly rig it.

Yep i think it's gonna follow the Mayweather v McGregor exhibition where Fury can't seem to find his distance ... Ngannou landing little jabs and cuffing punches on Furys gloves.
I think it will be obligatory that Ngannou lands a phantom punch, and a choreographed Fury hitting the canvas aka Wilder 1 fight ... then rising at 9 to feather-dust Ngannou for a referee stoppage late on.

This is a real pantomime. They have even enlisted Mike Tyson to play a part. There is zero chance of any risk to Fury or Ngannou.

The risk for Fury is if he decides to defend the WBC against a serious contender. He looks almost as fat and out of shape as his well narrated 'mental health difficulties' ... which of course was just Fury serving a ban and living it up on beer, boar testicles and a bag or 3 of powder ..

He's not fighting any contenders, he said so in that interview, Jon Jones next. WBC must be getting a nice drink out of it though or that would strip him.

We all know a Fury can't tell the truth if the camera is pointing at them.

I think he will face AJ because AJ appears so fragile mentally about now. Fury recognised Usyk presents far too big a challenge long ago, so I agree that's very unlikely to happen.

It's a shame. Fury may have been somewhere as good as his biggest fans believe he is/was. But he has in all probability peaked, and that body isn't going to be resilient enough to keep absorbing the damage without increasing the deficits.
The last decade he has had the body of a 55yr old couch potato - but the youth to make it still perform. He is now in the mid 30's, and that youthfulness will evaporate quicker than his hairline did on that boar-testicle diet.

Not so sure he'll have it over AJ mentaly , AJ does seem determined to give it a go , i think looking at fat belly and at bellys lack of confidence to actually fight top contenders , will probably give AJ more confidence , after all , we keep hearing about Fury - AJ fURY - uSYK .... and the blame gets put here there and everywhere , but fat belly has never tried to fight others either , wheres the offer to Joyce , where is the offer to Zhang , in fact except for Klitchco and Wilder where are ANY top fighters on his resume .

I think Fury might be smart enough to realise as has been said above that in his mid-30’s the athleticism is going to get suspect. Having that stop/start approach to training (not to mention competition) isn’t going to lead to any sort of Bernard Hopkins longevity. I can’t him wanting to take any real risk now. I think in theory soft sparring in terms of maintaining skills can’t be a substitute for real fights indefinitely. He must go downhill eventually.

Franklin and Helenius is giving it a go? “Where’s the offer to Joyce, where is the offer to Zhang”?
Despite Hearn’s bluster you could ask where’s his offer to Fury or Wilder?

I’m not sure if this deflection stands up if Fury’s next fight after this is another non-boxer.

The only one who will 100% fight any HW in the world is Usyk, Fury has gone full blown misfits and I doubt will even box again at a high level, he pretty much said so to Sky TV, AJ is a shell of himself and I think Hearn wants to earn themselves one massive pay day, he's not gonna put him in with a Zhang or a Joyce IMO.

Can you really blame Fury for taking a fight where he can earn absolutely millions for very little risk? I think most fighters given that opportunity would do the same. Let's see what happens after this exhibition, if he chooses another easy opponent or misfit style fight then I think thats Fury done.

I think a Fury v AJ would have been at it's best 3 maybe 4 years ago ... right now it's 2 years too late to be anything other than a money fight.

AJ is looked at as well past his best; or very much exposed, depending your view.
If AJ were to win though, it would be easy to argue that Fury's drug/food/alcohol issues caught up with him.

I personally hope Fury misses out on the big payday; he certainly doesn't deserve it.
