The training gets a bit tiresome and repetetive after a bit and the autotrain thing is too risky. Otherwise, it's great, by far the best boxing game I'vwe played, apart from Title Bout, which is a different sort of thing altogether.
Yes, that's what I think too, they could make career mode better by.
1 Improve training so it isn't so monotonous, instead of doing the training yourself, you should be able to design a training camp, spend money on hiring a gym, conditioner, trainer, etc. The mini games reall suck. The training should also affect the right attributes, rather than just having them assigned to random attributes, like padwork doing chin!!
The fighter you create initially shouldn't change too much with training. If you choose a faster fighter with not much strength, then it should be harder to work on power than speed. That way it's more strategic what sort of boxer you have.
Your skills shouldn't just keep going up and up either, it's unrealistic. Most fighters improve dramatically in the early stages, and the training after that is to keep sharp. It would be better if you could change up your training for specific fights.
2 Picking fights should be more of a part of the game. When you are unbeaten you should be able to earn more money. At the moment the money doesn't mean anything, because you spend it on stupid things like clothes rather than anythiing meaningful. If you have a string of losses, it should be harder to get the fights you wanted.
Your playing style could affect this too. If you have lots of exciting fights where you beat the fornicate out of opponents, you should get more opportunities. You could also have TV companies coming and offering you a contract or sponsorship. They already have this in tiger woods, so there is no reason not to do it in this game.

mate get a copy of the game or come round mine and play it.
half of what you are criticising, is in the game.
Agreed tho the training games are monotnous, especially the combo dummy which requires short term memory something that THC tends to play havoc with
the size and style of your fighter affects what your max's are for example a 2 m heavy will only have 75% speed as a max
you can buy things that make a difference certain gaurds will give you body points, some gumshields chin, some entrances mean you get up from a ko, trainers give you a power or speed boost etc etc etc.
so theres a lot more depth than you are making out mate, sorry you do need to play it before commenting really.
your attributes also dont continue going up once you hit 31 they even decrease.
now im really bored of explaining it, your welcome to come have a go on it when you like mate.

Quick Question, When u you create a boxer, have you got a wide range in choice for his shorts and gloves etc.?

There is a wider selection than last year, about 10 types of trunks to start off with. Plus unlike last year, once you've unlocked items in career mode, you can use them on any new boxers you create on the same profile.

The create a boxer is much improved I've got this boxer looking like the spit of Witter.
Anyone played as Hatton yet? The Hatton boxer on there is uglier than real life.

I made Vitali Klitschko...
I also made Clubber Lang for shits and giggles... From whom Mayorga also took a "right pasting"
Here's a video of Ray Leonard getting a major beat down from Clubber Lang.
Clubber KO

Making progress on career mode, the one gripe I have is when you beat someone quite a few places higher in the rankings you dont take their position they stay above you. I just beat the guy ranked 31 with my guy at 38, he is now 32 and I am 34.

Radeon All in Wonder
I play my system through my computer (19" flatscreen, nice speakers, or headphones if I prefer), Also watch (and record) fights on it.
I can record anything I want right to my computer... Put it on DVD's, or CD's if I want.

Yes, I have the 9600XT version(Got it in August), I have my GameCube, VCR, Cable Box, and Standard cable hooked into it... It was $185(US) and the video card is 5-9x (depending on the program) faster than my nVidia GeForce 4... The drivers are also significantly better(More options, better options) than the nVidia ones.

Blimey, impressive, didn't realise you could route all those things through it! I assumed because it was an all in one the video card would be grap in terms of speed, but it sounds like a serious piece of kit!

No, actually the 9600XT AIW is 10% faster than the 9600XT standard.
Also, I don't trust nVidia's specs, I've tested all my video cards w/ 3D Mark, and my ATI cards all meet the specs given, but the nVidia cards I've had have all fell well short of the specs given by them.
My next card will be ATI... Without question.
