Eh? How do you know that he isn't 'mentally ill'? You don't like him so you think he is playing the role but from what I have seen of his behaviours, they're not normal behaviours of a normal person, he has admitted to suicidal tendencies and he has tried to kill himself. Am I sure? No, but I don't think his claims of mental illness, suicidal thoughts and depression are ridiculous or overblown, they're not, also, I don't know what spending time on a yacht has anything to do with? He's rich, he isn't going to spend it on a council estate in Wythenshawe.

That's not the point really. He faced everyone he could but he was in a poor era which doesn't help him and isn't his fault. Fury does not have the strength in depth at all.
Joe Louis doesn't have a particularly deep resume in terms of names, but he's considered Top 3 of all time by almost everybody when it comes to the Heavyweight division.

Each to their own I guess. Wlad doesn't have a few big names that stand out for me. Although he has a number of names which can be considered "good" victories for a champ, most all timers have one or two that can also be considered "great". Fury is the one lacking depth as he only has one decent name in my opinion, albeit an old one.

In my experience, those that have struggled are generally the kindest because they know what it’s like to suffer.

I found him an arrogant twat in his early career and was really disappointed when he was awarded the decision against McDermott (I thought it was a clear win for John, but having just checked the fans score on BoxRec, it seems the fans side with Fury).
I was glad when he beat Wlad, we needed a change at the top.
Warmed to him during his comeback and cheered him through the Wilder fights.
I'll watch his fights, but I'm not a fan, really. I'll be cheering on Usyk and AJ if those fights ever get made.

His mental health issues have nothing to do with him how nice or nasty he is, from what I have seen of him in that documentary of his and his family - he probably has ADHD, autism, has poor impulse control, has massive mood swings, emotionally unpredictable - none of that's 'normal' I don't know him any more than Monzon83 does - I am in the camp if someone says they're depressed or suicidal then I err on the side of believing them - I don't think it's an act to get away with being an arsehole, I think Fury has many worrying issues to deal with than pretending to be depressed and suicidal which will only get worse once he has to stop boxing.

I liked him until he started with the constant ducks. Fighting Chisora--the rematch nobody wanted to see. Ducking Usyk.
He's become an utter joke of a man. Plus, I hate Big John Fury. He is the biggest melt on the planet.

I agree. I also think when he has a camera in his face and talking about a fight he says things to get attention, create interest, promote the fight etc.. No different to a lot of the fake build ups to many fights, name calling etc. They are normally all high fiving and cuddling each other after the fight so most of it is a sideshow.

I like Fury, he's a funny chap, a real character, also doesn't put up with the MSM woke cobblers. No chance of him getting SPOTY though if he beats Usyk, they'd rather give it to an unknown alphabet wokey.

I agree - those I support with serious mental health disorders are typically the nicest people I've met.
Tyson Fury is evidently fully functioning in the things that matter to him regarding keeping focused on his boxing career .. a professional athlete needs a very strict regime, certainly not someone presenting with ADHD. Yes he cancels fights, but not the ones he really wants to have. He strikes me as someone demonstrating PD traits only ..

With Wladimir it was just the utter consistency of him and how long he done it for... Plus the fact that he always seemed to win with ease, that's what made him so great...

That's a bit harsh mate, when someone is down the depths of depression, they sometimes aren't thinking too straight and they can't get their head cleared.... Obviously they are still responsible for their actions and words - but a bit of understanding goes a long way....

Hey Crease. The second part of my post gives this a bit of important context.
Generally speaking, I have always found that most people who are going through, or have been through, mental health issues are extremely kind.
They know what it’s like to feel bad, so will go out of their way to ensure others don’t.
Of course, in the moment, they may snap, be grumpy or irrational. But generally they quickly show contrition and exhibit compassion most of the time.
I’m the last to be harsh about mental struggles mate. Sorry if it came across that way.
