I like Barry Jones, Richie Woodhall, Enzo mac is decent. Heard Alex Arthur a couple of times and he was good. That american on the AJ card the other day was awful really awful. Al bernstein out the americans I like and Malignaggi as well.

Arthur is good, he should be used more.

Yes! How could I have forgotten Jim. He was an excellent commentator and very, very astute.

Barry Jones definitely my favourite co-commentator, actually analyses the fights properly in real time which is sadly a very rare ability in live televised sports.

Also give him a lot of credit for trying to bring the conversation back to boxing whilst Rawling was going full Partridge and constantly oogling the ladies in the crowd (maybe during one of BN's classic Russian afternoon shows? can't quite recall).

Eamon Andrews was good back in the day I've been told ( this is your life geezer ) .

I have always liked Frampton's input when he's been on telly, I imagine he would be an excellent co-commentator given the chance ( i feel like i have heard him do this at least on occasion)

I've heard him on studio comms at BT and he was really good, points stuff out I miss like Woodhall does.

I know we have done this before - but what would be everyone's "dream team".

So we can do as an "all time dream team" - so not feasible to actually happen again (e.g. some people who have died) or the alternative being one which can happen - even if slightly unrealistic they would return to boxing.

I've gone a bit old school with mine (for the - all still alive one).

Presenter - Jim Rosenthal.
Main Commentator - Ian Darke
Co Commentator - Jim Watt
Analyst 1 - (so perhaps should have been clearer this would be the old studio guest) - Barry Jones.
Analyst 2 - Barry McGuigan
Interviewer - Gary Newbon.

If going for people no longer with us. I would probably only have Reg Gutteridge in the main commentator (alongside Jim) and give Ian Darke the role of Interviewer.

Close would be Paul Dempsey and Glen McCory.

I did think about going the American Route and Adding guys like Bernstein, Lampley, and Merchant to the equation.

I heard an interview once where he said his original plan was to become a geography teacher. I personally find his commentary a bit like getting lectured by a teacher.

Always felt he was one of the commentators that talked over a fight, rather than it feeling like they were watching it with you (I'd say the same about Costello and McIntosh TBH).

Nothing against any of them, and all three come across as properly nice guys, just not my favourites.

Agreed although George Groves improving all the time

Main commentator - Howard Cosell (need that strong personality and he could just capture the moment, brilliantly).
Co-commentator - Al Bernstein (someone who was knowledgeable but would let Howard lead)
Ringside Analyst 1 - Gil Clancy (Blunt, clever and to the point)
Ringside Analyst 2 - Jim Rosenthal (Could spot things that would be missed by others)
Interviewer - Laura Woods (only because she is fit and an Arsenal supporter).
extra person - Jim Watt. Knows his stuff and could read fighters very well.

good shout he always adds insight to a commentary.
