Reading that Smith has pulled out.
I think you could see from the recent face off he was heavy.

Maybe the fight will get re-arranged ..
But don’t see it

The only way I see Smith pulling out for the money on offer if he was well over the weight

The recent part of Smith's career has been awful

I think so too as he's near the end careerwise.Coco wrote: ↑15 Sep 2024, 16:04Yeah, but he got it off, I reckon if he could get close he would take the fight for the paydaySeanBrennan wrote: ↑15 Sep 2024, 15:53he had a big weight crash last time didn't he, circa 40 pounds
The only person I remember who said no to last payday was Kevin Mitchell, he had a fight coming up and realised he didn't have it anymore so pulled out even though he could have turned up and quit early on.

Hard to trust Liam Smith making it to fight night at this point. Ambition clearly gone and after KOing him he will come out with some excuse about training or whatever. I am a fan of him and admire what he achieved but he looks to be on his way out and this doesn't help those optics.

Brilliant news for me!

I can imagine it is tough to stay motivated if you started to box as a family and the family are one by one retiring or fighting less often themselves.

It’s a great replacement. Let’s hope he’s fit - looks like he had a fight lined up a month later so must’ve been a month into camp I guess. Hope he doesn’t have to lose too much weight quickly.
I have to say, I was really looking forward to Kelly-Smith though, it was for me the best fight on the bill. And the most even.

He's always fit and the fight next month was at light middle.JamesPhilips wrote: ↑16 Sep 2024, 10:01It’s a great replacement. Let’s hope he’s fit - looks like he had a fight lined up a month later so must’ve been a month into camp I guess. Hope he doesn’t have to lose too much weight quickly.

Definitely. It wouldn't have been a bad match at 11st anyway away from this situation.

Very good replacement, very likely a harder fight for Josh than a possibly shot smith was
